WE REALLY DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF IT. IT WAS PART OF GROWING UP. IF WE DID SOMETHING BAD, WE GOT A BEATING.

Yes my parents spanked me! They were trying to teach me right from wrong. I didn't like the spankings that I got, but I promise you right now that had they not spanked me when I was growing up, I more than likely would have turned out like the kids are today, UNRULY & RUDE!!!!!!!!! When my kids were growing up, they got spanked as well. Oh by the way, when I got my spankings while growing up, it was with a switch and it hurt!!!!!!!! Best thing that ever ever ever happened to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't get spanked much but the times I did I remember very clearly so I guess the spanking did what it was supposed to.
I think my dad is kinda a butthead sometimes but not cause of the whooping lol. My mom was more loving. But she spanked us to think that is just a mom thing. Maybe I am wrong but in my house it was true.

i only got it if i really deserved it. i can count the # of times i was spanked on both hands. I think that what children need today is a good spanking. None of this"use your inside voice" crap and good wack in the butt is good. I have never had to spank my kids because they know I woun't tolerate most of the stuff other moms these days do.

I was at a restuarant the other day with my 5 year old daughter, and this kid behind us was screaming and carrying in. My daughter looked at me and said." that boy is being naughty!" I replied yes he is, and his mother gave ME a dirty look. What is this wold coming to???

Yes, and I deserved most of them. I was raised in the south and most true southerners believe in a good whoopin' when it's needed. None of the time out or in the corner stuff. You got you rearend spanked and it was over and forgotten (except by the receiver). I still believe in spankings, not beatings, to correct certain behaviors. On the hiney only. Hope this helped.

All the time when I was growing up. I didn't appreciate it at the time, of course. But now I think parents are way too lax with their kids. A spanking would probably do a lot of kids good.

Yes I was spanked when I deserved it. Of course I didn't like it at the time--it hurt, but I always remembered what I got the spanking for....kept me from repeating the same stupid behavior.

I never took spankings seriously. My mom would spank me but my step dad would use the belt. The spankings were more of a joke.

My parents spanked me ever time I got out of line, and looking back on it I’m glad they did. I look at my friends from back then who didn’t get spanked, and what they turned out to be. Boy I’m glad I got spanked.

Yes but it was to teach me. The never beat me but they spanked me when I did something wrong. They don't spank me anymore because i'm too old. they just punish me in other ways if I do something wrong.

Yes, my parents spanked me. I lived with my great-grandmother and she did most of my spanking... darn flyswatters, bathbrush, and belts! At any rate, I have mixed feelings about it.
