Different breeds of chickens lay different colors of eggs. I had Araucana hens before. Some laid blue eggs, some laid pinkish colored eggs, and a few even laid green eggs. Generally a hen will lay the same colored egg throughout her life. I was told to breed a white egg layer breed, such as a leghorn, to an araucana, to get them to lay green eggs.

Araucana eggs are often blue or eco-friendly, yet they can each sometimes be colors of brown or white. that is totally uncommon to get an exact Araucana, maximum bought are Ameraucanas. those are a blended breed, which charges for the version in visual charm and egg colour. Vent sexing is the most strong thanks to sex a chick, even if that is not something the final human being is conscious a thanks to do. one project that i have said with my chickens is that when a week or 2 the chicks will commence to strengthen their tails. The women people could have them, yet adult males received't. i'm able to't ensure it really is genuine for all breeds, even if that is always labored for me.

chickens don't start laying eggs until they're old enough - usually after their first molt - about 6-8 months of age - our aracauna's always layed pretty tourmaline colored eggs
