It depends on alot of different factors. The type of bacteria, the seriousness of the situation, the strength of your immune system. These all come into play when it comes to infections. With the help of antibiotics, the pain should go away in 2-3 days (not always the case), and you should be fully healed after a 10-day dosage. Make sure you don't stop the antibiotics (if you're taking any) before the prescription is up. Otherwise, the infection could come back stronger than ever, and the previous antibitiocs you were using may be rendered useless against the resistant bacteria.

Your physisican can give you something more than Tylenol. We give pain meds in the hospital to pregnant women. Call him and ask him for something stronger or better yet, call your Ob/Gyne and tell him you are in pain and ask for something for ear pain.
I know what your going thru. I have had ear problems before, It is no fun.
Good luck.

It generally takes 2-3 days for the antibiotics to kick in. Patience is a virtue when waiting for antibiotics to kick in.
