Last year, I was giving chemotherapy to a pt who had non Hodgkins lymphoma. He was 23 yrs old and had been in the marines for awhile and came home only to find out he had cancer.
I gave the chemotherapy and watched as his cell counts dropped and then recover so he was able to go home before the next round of chemo.
Before he left the hospital, I asked him what his plans were for home. He surprised me because he was very pale and sick when he told me he just wanted time with his girlfriend.
Me and the doctor laughed when I told him his only plan was to get his girlfriend to a motel and only open the door for room service.
If your brother has a girlfriend, maybe that would be an option. A private room at a motel with his girlfriend or if he has some good friends get some tickets to a fair to the races or something. You could even set up something so he can spend some time with his friends.
Good luck.

As the others have answered just being there for him is priceless. Could you take him to an event such as a baseball or football game or a motocross competition? Here is an idea. I don't know if it is feasible. In my state, NJ, there is a school to learn how to operate construction equipment. They have a large area where students learn how operate big trucks, bulldozers, cranes etc. You could contact them and see if they would be willing to allow your brother to work with them. You could contact your local paper for a story about this local business helping your brother. It could be a winning story for all. Our thoughts are with you and your brother.

Spend time with him, take him places, do fun things with him and just basically be there for him. IF you do things with him and keep his mind busy that will be better than anyone gift you could buy for him. OR you could buy him a pet.

Are you close enough to take him to a NASCAR race. If you can get him a pit pass, he would enjoy that. Good Luck, you are in our prayers.

You can't buy anything to make him feel better, just be there for him. If you really must buy him something, buy him an inspirational book (something positive!)

don't buy him anything. spend time with him. talk to him and listen to him. take him places, just normal places like the movies or a game and such. a t-ball game would be OK. don't try to "impress him". Just be yourself and allow him to be himself. and listen when he is ready to talk. be available for him, for whatever.

How about your support, encouragement, and love. I'll bet he considers those more precious than anything else.
