They may. A rooster with only 6 hens will make for some tired hens! When hens get stressed out they tend to lay fewer eggs.

If your hens are more then 2-3 years they will be laying fewer eggs anyway...

Our hen lays about 3-5 eggs a week with no roostet.

They will but the eggs will be deformed and unfertile. You need a cockrel to fertilize them for the eggs to form properly.

besides making noise you need the rooster if you want to hatch the eggs to make more chickens. if you want to just eat the eggs you don't need him.
