We pay taxes, aren't we entitled to be told?

You have that information. Your taxes pay for law enforcements of all levels , school buses, streets, all public servants...what more do you need to know?
Some of the money is wasted...but considering what is provided and the thought that you as an individual pay for a very small portion of it.
Most of the money collected and spent is paid for by people who do not live in your town, city, or state.
I would think you should be grateful for what you have without having to foot the entire bill.

After making you give so much of your labour and time in the form of taxes I think they prefer that you don't quite know whats going on as you've just been screwed.
Anxiety and disinformation are a great way to keep your own populace in check.
