Did you know Christian women suppose wear scarfs too?!!?

They wear scarfs because it was in a book that once some rogue angels got envious of man, and actually had intercourse (raped) the beautiful women--
It may sound outrageous but its true, the book wasnt admitted into the Bible for obvious reasons (angels gone bad isnt good for the image)
and so they wear scarfs to conceal their looks as if not to get raped

I used to work with a woman who was Muslim and asked her the same question and it is to be not only modest but also it is so not to attract men to them. I think we Americans could learn alot from the Muslim Women by wearing more clothing and by not wearing such preocitive clothing and more clothing we wear the better we could all look.

I'm not so sure it has anything to do with religion. The men rule over there, and violently. They can't show their hair, their face, their bodies, they don't vote, drive, and they are totally dependent on a man for money, they don't work, only a few of them in certain areas. Women are very oppressed over there, they would love to be over here and have our freedom!

The Muslim religion prohibits women from showing their faces, as well as other parts of their body because it may cause the men to have immoral thoughts.

It's a sign of modesty. Also, the Koran commands them to keep their head covered. It's more of a sign of deep respect for their religious beliefs.

this has no significance to the faith, women in the middle east wear it for protection from the sand while women from around the world wear it to show their holiness and in the bedroom they throw it away for intercourse.

it is related to their religion, they have to expose their beauties just for husband and some close family.
it is beacuse to prevent men of gloating, but actually i believe men are gloating even to women with veil if they want to
