sausages and mash potatoes

Bangers as can be seen at the link below are definitely sausages but mash appears to be a tv show about the staff of an army hospital in the Korean war find that laughter is the best way to deal with their situation.

Perhaps they likes to eat sausages after work.

This is what British people call sausages with mashed potato. The sausages are called bangers because sausages often used to go pop in the hot frying pan like a banger.

Bubble and squeak is fried mashed potato with cabbage and toad in the hole is sausages in batter

pigs in blankets are sausages baked in pastry

Sausage and mashed potato.

But you could make it tastier by doing it this way.

Fry your sausages (good ones) till cooked. At the same time have your potatoes boiling away. put the sausages to one side and fry off one or two onions they will be better if you caramelise them.

make some gravy (your own way) and add to the onions (make it in the onions if you know how)
Bring it all together by mashing the potatoes with warmed milk and butter then add either sliced spring onions (scallions) or cooked leeks, plating up the potatoes sausage and any veg you like and pour over the onion gravy. Sounds delicious! only I don't like sausages but I would use steak instead. Lovely Jubbly!
