This is a plague sweeping the nation. In New York State a girl could get knocked up at 16 years old. Then she can say she doesn't know who the father is.No shame there. Then she gets a check every month. She gets heath coverage and food stamps. The list of benefits goes on and on.Here's the kicker. The guy that knocked her up ends up living under the same roof working off the books if he feels like it when he feels like it all the wile eating his kids food and spending his kids money. It goes on and on.Now we live in a compassionate country that looks out for it's own but where do we draw the line. Our old and weak need to be looked after but these guys are working the system.

I think we have MUCH more serious issues to worry about, though I do understand your frustration.
Don't blame that guy, though, as there are plenty of mixed messages flung as us through the political and religious channels. If we could dump the religious so-called moralism, exchange it for REALISM....make condoms available to teens....encourage more hands-on and attentive parenting....foster national corporate economic responsibility (fair pay/benefits in exchange for a little less profit), vastly improve our education system (ALL community colleges should be free), create a welfare system that finds work (or social service) for you to do for the money you're getting, mandatory service in the armed forces, illegalize lobbying, de-politicize the media, and vastly improve the adoption system. Most importantly, we need to get rid of the Federal Reserve. It is a PRIVATELY OWNED institution, not governmental, and has the proverbial knife at our throats economically. Our financial, political, and social health would breed national pride, and social responsibility.
Both Democrats and Republicans have sold us out to the high bidders. We need a change...a BIG one.

Yes, you're completely right. You, as a tax paying citizen, should not have to pay for other people's children. The kids should be turned out on the streets and made to fend for themselves. If their parents won't support them let them starve. Failing this shoot the kids and the parents. All morons need to be eliminated from society. Social Cleansing! I think I've just coined a new phrase.
Always punish the children for the idiocy of the parents, that's what I say.
Thank you for fighting for my right to be stupid.

I liked how you said "(loosely)."
Unfortunately, I think freedom usually includes freedom to be stupid.
With kids, we can't really punish them for having stupid parents.
As for the stupid parents, I'm not sure. Castration sounds like a little much. But I don't know.

I, for one, am not happy about supporting the kids of a jobless person who has 13 children. I think it is ridiculous. It encourages people to be irresponsible and lazy knowing that their kids will be fed by the government using the taxpayers' money ( your money and mine). But since that is the law, we really can not do anything except to express our dismay and frustrations.

Is there any particular group of people who fall into this category? Some religious faiths support having many children.
