It's about a relationship with a all powerful, forgiving, loving God. He is always there to listen to you, and will answer you. It's about having peace in your heart all the time, joy so that you sing alot. It is security. It's about not knowing what to do, but asking and then He shows you what to do. It's about getting wisdom when you don't have any. God is a giver. He loves us. He likes to bless us.

You might want to become a Christian because you believe in Christ. Sure, some people might say you should become one to escape hell, but then another religion will tell you that you're still going to hell. Basically, you should choose your faith according to what you feel in your heart and (in my opinion) God-given soul, but don't listen to what people say to make you feel guilty or fearful. For me, God (in any way "he" might be perceived) only wants what's best for you. And if a path other than Christianity (even if it's a non-religious one) is the way you feel to go, then go down that path. As a Christian, I believe living a good life and being a good person is much better than only believing in God. We get a chance to live on this planet, and I'd much rather concentrate on making it a better place for everyone, regardless of faith or creed. And that's how I think Jesus would have wanted it.

The benefit is that all of God's promises are for you! His eternal love and His hope are yours. No you can't "just live a good life" to get into Heaven because you have to be perfect. The only way to be perfect is to accept Jesus' sacrifice for your sins.

To be a christian means to be a follower of christ. If you live a good life and fail to follow christ, you will hear of heaven but will never step in. If you want to know the benefits of being a christian, seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all that will be revealed unto you.

Heaven is about faith not just good works. The benefits are leaving eternity in paradise and living a better more positive life on earth. Jesus loves you!

there is no other way to Heaven but through Christ. The benefits are out of this world. not only do you have peace in your heart, Jesus wipes your slate clean. No matter what you have done in this world, it is forgiven and a home is prepared for you in Heaven. Christian doesn't mean perfect, it means forgiven.

You've missed the point entirely. Christianity is not a self-help philosophy to provide you with benefits in this life. Sure there are rewards, but most Christians would tell you there are far more sacrifices. God the Creator became human (Jesus=Immanuel="God with us") to satisfy the universal and seemingly oppositional characteristics of God, which are justice/fairness, and mercy/love/forgiveness. This was accomplished through Jesus Christ, who satisfied the just punishment for the sin of humankind by dying on the cross, allowing us to be forgiven. Why? Because He loves His creation. We have free will to accept Him and obey Him, or to reject Him and "be our own boss"--otherwise we would be automotons. He wants us to love Him and accept His atonement willingly. We are not good enough or holy enough to earn our own way to heaven. True Biblical Christianity is based on faith, not works. Works follow faith. But good works without faith places trust in yourself, not God. Mother Theresa is not good enough to go to Heaven on her own; her good works came as a result of trust in God to save her, and obedience to Him. Christianity is about what God has done to find mankind, whereas "religion" is man's attempt at finding God.

Even though most so-called Christian religions teach that its all about being good, it isn't.
Being good is but a by-product.
Would you like to know what a real Christians main activity should be?

Cornelius was a good man (Acts 10:2), but he still needed to hear the gospel so that he could be saved (Acts 11:14). "Just being good" isn't good enough; one must obey the gospel (2 Thessalonians 1:8) and wash away his sins in baptism (Acts 22:16; 1 Peter 3:21).

There is no heaven. You just have to make the best of what you got now. And you don't have to feel guilty about not being a Christian.
