That's just Israel's way of showing us how it's done.Attack with no half measures. In that part of the world anything less would have been viewed as weakness. What's the point in having a top notch military and letting it collect dust. When backed into a corner fight for your life. When the guy next door kicks your dog you take a bat to his head without warning.

Not only are the Israeli soldiers still being held, but more Israeli's have died, how dumb can you get?
A little History for you:-
Part of Palestine was given to the Jewish people after WW2, that was a big mistake because the Israelis then proceeded to throw out the Palestinians, the Palestinians have never accepted this, they have been terrorized by Israel, and now they fight with the only tools they have, throwing stones, and blowing themselves up, and setting off the occasional rocket.
The USA Supports the many atrocities commited by Israel:-
http://www.action-for-un-renewal.org.uk/pages/isreal_un_resolutions.htm
and the American people are blissfully unaware that $90 Billion of their taxes has been given to Israel to aid it's "War":-

Israel has a lot of influence worldwide so only one side of the story is usually reported.
Recently Israel has siege Gaza, denying Palestinians electricity, destroying infrastructure, and making it a virtual prison,
As usual the Palestinians have fought against this oppression, and a group of them managed to capture an Israeli soldier.
The Israelis then proceeded to escalate their siege, and killing of Palestinians who had nothing to do with the Capture of the Israeli soldier, world leaders said nothing.
Only Hezbollah would stand up for the Palestinians, and they captured two Israeli soldiers. Then Israel decided to punish the whole of Lebanon, so now Hezbollah try to kill Israelis, and Israelis try to kill Lebanese.
The USA responce had been to blame Iran, and Syria, and it makes me wonder if this was their recent agenda all along - to create an excuse to attack another country.

I'm sorry, but the Lebanese government permits Hezbollah to exist and operate in Lebanon with impunity. Maybe the democratic process is working too well in Lebanon? Is Hezbollah's presence an indication of the will of the majority?
I am sorry for all the unfortunates on all sides in this as in any conflict. I'm sorry that wars are waged. I'm sorry that innocents die in terrorist bombings.
I'm sorry to see a lot of things.
I am not sorry for Hezbollah. They chose their fates.
Sad -- that like all terrorist organizations -- Hezbollah doesn't care what causalties and destruction it inflicts when it "retaliates."

As the Qu'ran says, "if you kill one human being, it's as though you killed all of humankind." Shouldn't have kidnapped the soldiers. Besides, it's not just two soldiers. What? You think Hamas has just suddenly decided to kidnap a soldier? The better question is: why hasn't Israel annihilated the Islamofascists before now?

Don't you think it might be a accumulation of incidents? Iran multiple times threatened them.Hamas and Hezbolah pull the suicide bomber cr*p. Not to mention that the pals just can't seem to deal honestly. They(Isreal) hammer a shaky peace and here comes the arab bombers. I can understand Isreals reaction completely. It's truly unfortunate that the only thing arabs respect is violence and killing and view kindness and tolerance as a weakness to be exploited

last time israel negotiated for their soldiers' return, they got burned. 6 out of 7 were returned dead. they (israel) released 400 in that 'fair' exchange. isreal of course has the wherewithal to make any deal it chooses. in my view it would be understandable if the israelis learned from that lesson and decided not to go down that path again. setting a new standard for reciprocation/retaliation/revenge for such behavior seems about right to me, and i don't take sides on this one.

Because they have more guns and the support of the USA. Plus this gives the Iranian something to think about: maybe Israel will attack them if they continue to pursue the development of nuclear weapons.
