Yes.
Consider this:
1) If Israel laid down their arms and never again lifted a finger in their defense, what would happen?
2) If the Palestinians, Lebanese, Syrians, etc. laid down their arms and never again lifted a finger in their defense, what would happen?
Personally, I believe that the answers are:
1) Millions of innocent Israelis would die and their country would soon cease to exist.
2) Peace in the Middle East.
Israel has tried to make peace, but there is no peace with Islam. I have no sympathy left for the "Muslim plight."

After reading the answers already posted, I see that only an enlightened few understand the true reality of the middle east.
A war has been waging agsinst the Jews for millenia. One poster even called Israel, the new Nazi's. Does this person understand world history, or only how to use inflammatory words incorrectly?
The nation of Israel was established by the United Nations. Now this same orginzation would destroy it. What has changed?
I submit the change is due to the admission of a large number of Arab and Muslim nations to the charter.
The question poses the assumption that the act of kidnapping was the first and only act of aggression against Isreal to have EVER been commited. Is this person under the influence of a fever? Or drugs? Or simply woefully underinformed due to the mental disorder known as Liberalism?
The intentional and unprovoked taking of two military persons is an act of war. If an act of war has been made, then the war has begun and Israel has set the rules. Now Muslim terrorists have to pplay by the rules set by Israel.
How's your game?

No absolutely not. Israel has gone too far, I agree Israel has a right to protect itself and to attempt to rescue its soldiers and/or their bodies. However the bombing of a civilian airport serves only to terrorize the flying public that has nothing to do with Israel and its problems.
Why take out over 13 bridges and the electric utilities. It would appear to the untrained eye such as mine, that Israel is attempting to punish the innocent civilians that happen to live or travel to Lebanon.
So far most of the casualties of this war against Lebanon have been civilians. Maybe just maybe if the airport had been left open some of those dead may have been able to reach their destinations safely.
This bully attitude will forever perpetuate the hatred and has served to derail the peace offorts.
It could be concluded that the onlly one that seeks a constant state of war in the middle east is only Israel.
I am not Palestinian or Arab, I live in middle America and
this is what I see.
The US should stop pouring our hard earned dollars into a state that uses it in this brutal fashion.

Israel has the attitude that it's a special exception in the moral universe.
Israelis have kidnapped people before. And they sometimes kill those whom they kidnap. If Israel attacks people who kidnap Jews, than Israel should be attacked when they kidnap gentiles. That's FAIR.
Actually, the Jews don't see it that way. They think that they alone are humans, and that the rest of us are beasts whose purpose is to serve them. How should I explain their thinking so that people can understand it? Hm.
Suppose a farmer makes a living selling cows to the butcher. He feels entitled to do this and to enjoy the money he gets from the sales. Now, suppose the cows figure out the farmer's game and, one day, gore and trample the farmer. If the farmer survives the cows' attack, he will probably feel that the cows were wrong to have done that to him.
That's how Jews think about goyim, too. They want to buy us and sell us, ignore us or kill us, just as it serves their convenience. Sexual slavery is legal in Israel, as long as the slaves aren't Jews - did you know this?
I think that Jews should be served exactly as they have been serving others. If enslaving gentiles is legal in Israel, then enslaving Jews should be legal everywhere else. If Jews shoot Arab children in Israel, then Jewish children should be shot everywhere else. If Jewish soldiers squash White college girls with bulldozers in Israel, then Jewish college girls should be squashed with bulldozers everywhere else.
"But that's collective punishment!" you might say. Hey, collective punishment is a common practice in Israel: Jews frequently punish whole Arab communities when one of its members offends them. The Israeli invasions in both Gaza and Lebanon are examples of Jews inflicting collective punishments on non-Jews.
So, they did it first. The Jews don't understand that gentiles are NOT their cattle, for them to buy and sell. Since they don't understand this, they will have to be taught. The only problem is there's nobody strong enough, just now, who is willing to be the teacher.

Yes, I like Israel's stance. Worldwide if it was some other country in Israel's place there would be such a cry for diplomacy that after all the talking was done the kidnapped soldiers would be dead. No Israel is not waiting for the court of public opinion and I admire them for it

Not at all.
This situation resembles 9/11 to me.
How those terrorists wanted to stop the American government, but all they did was kill a bunch of innocent people who held no power in government at all.
All those people are not to blame for Hezbollah.
Israel only needed a reason to hurt a Muslim country other than Palestine and the capture of two guys was enough for them.
Think rationally people.
Somethings going on in Israel, that's gonna mean pain for the rest of us all.

Absolutely no. Israel does not recognize democratically elected Palestinian politicians who do not orgnize any attack, but were kidnapped as well. And ministries ruined. Israel is new nazi regime, I think.
"Somebody" will do good business with war machines in this territory now. Also for some international money for peacekeeping. That is shame and the Haga should deal with such politicians.

Israel is absolutely justified. They've been attacked by those whose only goal is the complete annihilation of their people. They pulled out of Lebanon and Gaza and they're thanked with unprovoked attacks. I support Israel 119%.

Absolutely. Terrorists are terrorists, and if a nation harbors terrorists, they are liable for the consequences.
"All the ""Muslims"" did was kidnap two people?" Hell-ooo?
#1, you don't mean "Muslims" -- you mean Hezbollah -- or you're dumber than I think.
#2, "all they did..." --- Hell-ooo again! These are the bastards that drove a truck bomb into the Marine barracks! (among hundreds of other despicable acts!!)
On a strictly personal level, I hope the Israelis punish the **** out of the Hezbollah bastards and wipe them off the face of the earth.

Justified is a limiting term. Not only point of view can determine the answer but also degree of view, clarity of view, open-mindedness of view, unprejudiced of view and final in respect of view.
Justified to throw a rock is one thing, but justified to assassinate Palestinians along with innocent civilians is quite another thing and outcome.
Obviously, there is right and wrong and suffering a plenty on both parts, but justified? I don't think so. Shooting those huge mortars and cannon off on suspicious enemy sites is like saying "innocence is dead." Do you have children? Are children not innocent? How many dead Palestinians equal one dead Jewish child, or How many dead Jewish adults equal one innocent Palestinian child?
