Probably. I usually recommend that no one ever goes below 1500 calories. Unless you are bedridden, 1150 is too low.

The question next is how many calories should you eat?

That depends upon how old you are, what your activity level is and what your current weight is (amongst other things). Use a website (free) such as http://www.fitday.com to monitor your calories (both food you eat and exercise you do). They have tools to calculate how many calories you should eat based upon their critieria (which I find fairly accurate).

The goal to successful weight loss is consuming less calories than you burn. Eat 2000 calories and burn 2500, you'll lose a pound in a week (3500 calories equals 1 pound). If you starve yourself too much (like you probably are), you'll stunt your metabolism, probably overeat or binge eat, and lose muscle mass. So instead of looking sexy & fit, you'll appear emaciated and sickly. Not the look you are going after, that's for sure.

It takes work, time, patience and dedication to lose weight. Just educate yourself and use the fitday from time to time to monitor your daily intake of food.

Drop me a line if you need more help / suggestions.

Good luck.

no, that is not too low, you can be just fine with any calorie amount, just remember that 900 (and under) calories medically qualifies as starvation

It is OK, but if you are 6'1 and 243 pounds, it would be too low.
