That just shows how freedom helps the poor and the typical American family.

And people, you can thank me for this freedom. You're welcome!

mouse001: thanks for what -- is it for the large tax breaks I've given to the American people to make the economy stronger? Mission accomplished!

OMG!!!!! The whining absoluty kills me. Pay attn ppl. When the industrial revolution was going on in this country yes ppl only worked one job, but they worked if for sixteen hours, and that wasn't for anything close to a living wage. If you were really having trouble making ends meet well don't worry about staying home with the kids, cause they could work just as long and hard as you could for even less. If ppl wanna ***** that ya can't live a middle class life style by burning french fries for a living at least be honest that your unmotivated and lazy and your just gonna keep taking what anyone is willing to hand you. Otherwise get trained, get an education, and get a real job...
BTW I'm a military housewife. We've been living off one income, mind you one that is a lot less than what he'd be making in the civillian word, and we make it work. Those are the choices you make, we do without some of the things we'd like to have to have a better quality of life.

Oh yes? And how much time do the poor have to enjoy that freedom? NONE!!! It would be a lot better if in America they would pay "living wages"---a minimum wage you can live off through a month--and wouldn't it be a lot better if there would be a mandatory health insurance requirement for ALL businesses, not only big companies? Seems to me that if I am poor and have to work 2 jobs to make end meets and none of the jobs provides health+dental insurance to me that I will be cheated one way or the other, because I not only have to work 2 jobs to make ends meet, I also cannot go to the doc or get my teeth fixed-cause if I work 2 jobs then I don't qualify for any gvmt. assistance whatsoever bec. my income is too high, yet, my income is not high enough to afford me these outrageous medical bills. So where do I have freedom? In the sweatshop? Freedom--my Foot

Lol, yeah, I'm 18 and I have to work 2 jobs (soon to be 3) just to move out of the house. $1,000 for RENT is bull-sh*t!! Plus all the regular bills and expenses...wow it's expensive to live. The one house that we (and friend and I) are planning to move to, the heating bill alone is $1,200 a month. (but the rent is an insanely low $350) We'd have to get a third person to move in with us, but then the landlord will jack up the rent, defeating the purpose of the 3rd person. But buying a house (what I want to do) is nearly impossibe at an average $300,000 a house in my area. (Counrty houses are popular in rural areas turned big city)

In the 1950s, my father was able to support my mother and a child (me) in a middle class life with a minimum wage job and very little overtime. Now, even BOTH parents working full time can't bring a family into the middle class. No wonder children run amok.

Yup , we have come a long way baby. I was reminding my daughters that in the 1950's my husband wanted me to work to buy land in the Poconos for a summer home. I opted to stay home with the kids instead. I never regretted it BUT today the mom's have to work just to keep up with one mortgage, never mind a vacation cabin anywhere. Just week to week for many people with 2 or more jobs. Yes, we have come a long way.

Yes it is wonderful. It is hard this day and age to stay afloat even with college under your belt so to speak It is sad all job positions can not pay the same scale as others do. I do not care what the job entails but it takes hard work, parents away from their kids to survive in this today. God Bless all who have to do that.
