Maybe in like 10 years from now. UFC is still building it's fan base. The Spike TV deal has been great for them, but sooner or later they will have to go into direct compettion not only with the WWE but with boxing itself. Boxing is losing more fans everyday with it's lack of order and the WWE is the biggest sports entertainment market out there. I personally say if UFC wants to make a bold statement, their next Ultimate Fight Night should be aired on Monday night in direct competetion with RAW. Advertise the living hell out of it and have a pay-per-view caliber main event on it, such as Franklin vs. Loiseau 2 for the MW title, Hughes vs. St. Pierre or Penn for the WW title, or Mir vs. Monson with the winner getting a shot at the HW title at their next pay-per-view. Also include at least one "I cannot afford to miss this" undercard fight and you got a show that'll pull in many viewers! Then let the ratings decide who has the better sports product!
As far as why they can't go elsewhere besides Vegas, it's because a few states still don't sanction UFC. California recently lifted there ban on UFC earlier this year which is a big move for them. The old UFC held shows in countries like Japan back in '97, '99, & '00, Brazil in '98, states like Colorado, North Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia to name a few all in the early days of unsanctioned UFC. If you follow this link and click on each event you can see for yourself, http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=event.FullSchd. When UFC gets bigger they'll travel more. So far the new management has done shows in Vegas, Atlantic City, Connecticut at the Mohegan Sun, and California.
As for wanting to see UFC in my city, yes I would but I feel it'll never happen since I'm in Richmond, VA & it's more a NASCAR city than anything. I'm waiting for them to go back to NJ and I'll catch a show then.

The UFC has done shows in other cities. When it first started out.. mixed martial arts (MMA) wasn't legal even in Nevada. They held the fights in Louisiana and I think Alabama. More recently MMA has been legalized in California and they had a bout in Cali earlier this year. The UFC has also been in England.. and I think they have plans on going back. I think it is just easier to have this type of even in Vegas because the casinos are set up for it and probably don't charge as much as renting the Staples Center or similar venue.
They are tons of local fighting shows other than the UFC. It is just a matter of finding them. A good website mma.tv they have a bulletin board that many of the fighters post to.. and the have listing of events all throughout the US.

UFC is growing fast. Anyone that tells you it is fake is brain dead. WWE is fake - UFC is NOT.
Do a little history on the UFC and you will see they have come from a bankrupt company that Dana White and his other 2 partners have built from the ground up... they got it legal in 22 states and are working on others right now. Other things are in the works... HBO is begging to air it like they do boxing shows... so when you get the big boys interested like HBO... the sky is the limit.

UFC is real and WWE is Fake.. WWE is for kids from 8 to 14 and UFC is for mature people.
UFC is still facing lot of problems from different states.
Pride Fighting Championship ( worlds biggest mma organization ) is also coming to United States.

No it won't. In my opinion when WFA (World Fighting Alliance) starts over on July 22 UFC is going to get over run even in American MMA community. UFC is turning into professional wrestling more and more and that is, I believe going to cause it's down fall in very near future. First of all they don't pay their fighters (except 2 or 3 major stars) anywhere near enough and that's why they don't sign anyone big from other organizations. They get their talent from reality shows and built them up with stories of how hard life or difficult childhood they had and some other pro wrestling like stuff while PRIDE and all other bigger MMA organizations get fighters based on their ability and prior career achievements. And these are the reasons why UFC isn't world wide right now and why they aren't able to compete with PRIDE and soon with WFA either. I think that UFC's only chance of keeping their position as American number 1 MMA organization is in recent cooperation that they have planed with PRIDE (it's not a coincidence that Liddell vs Silva and some other UFC vs PRIDE match ups are being put together right now, when MMA fans have been wanting to see that for years) and Dana White should stick to that by any means possible because with the talent that WFA already has working for them (Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Matt Lidland, Bas Rutten, Kimo, Ron Waterman, Ryoto Machida, Ricco Rodriguez, Jason Miller... just to name a few) he could soon find him self in real problems. I personally wouldn't mind if he did. WFA won't be confined to one city only. Their events are going to be held nation wide and they will in my opinion soon gain world wide popularity that PRIDE has right now and real American MMA fans will finally have MMA organization that they can be proud off. And as for those bias UFC "nutthuggers" - they will soon find out what real fighters are all about, and that they are not just what they see on TUF.

the only thing world wide about wwe is the name. you really think a lot of people outside of the usa watch wwe? ufc hold events in other places besides vegas as well, in the recent past, they have been in atlantic city, NJ, and anaheim, california. in the past, they have held events in brazil and puerto rico. ufc is just one organization of the sport mixed martial arts, other organizations(such as PRIDE fighting, very popular in asia) do very well outside the usa. in my opinion, one of the things that makes ufc special is that it is a big event, held only once a month or so, wrestling can be seen on tv 3-4 days a week. yes i would like to see a ufc event in my city, but i will have to deal with local mma amateurs that fight here regularly.

There isn't much I could add to a_p_ribafish's comment, other than to say that while WWE may be choreographed, they do get hurt. Heck, show me any sport that isn't fixed. At least WWE is more entertaining that UFC half the time...

ufc, well they are on the rise righ now and boxing fans have moved to ufc but the question that everyone involved is that if they can keep this up for longterm. remember ufc being real becomes very redundant after couple of years (thas my opinion) and going global is costly and rikey move.
