Yes, thats right! I like KFC! That's no great mystery =D and so I have collected some information about KFC from the internet. I have yet to try any of these recipies so if you try it and it works, please tell me :-)
Since 1952, when Colonel Harland Sanders opened his first franchise, only a select few have been privy to the secret "herb & spices" contained in the billion-dollar blend. To protect the top-secret recipe, the company claims, portions of the secret blend are premixed at two confidential spice companies and then distributed to KFC's offices, where they are combined.
In 1983, in his book "Big Secrets", author Wm. Poundstone hired a lab to analyze a dry sample of the spice mix. The surprising discovery was that instead of identifying "eleven herbs & spices," the analysis showed only four ingredients: flour, salt, pepper, and monosodium glutamate (a flavor enhancer). The cooking proceedure is believed to be the other half of the secret.
Colonel Sanders became famous for using a pressure cooker shortly after its invention in 1939. He discovered that hungry travelers greatly appreciated the 10 min. pressure-cooking time (compared to the usual 30 min. it used to take for frying chicken), and the new process made the chicken juicy and moist inside.

* or 4 cubes mashed There are actually 11 spices in the above combination, but an additional 3 ingredients were necessary to derive that special flavor. Place all ingredeints in blender with on\off spped for 3-4 minutes to pulverise, or rub through a fine strainer. Store in an airtight container so it will not lose potency. Makes about 3/4 cup. To use with flour: Add 1 oz. mix to cup of flour for coating chicken.

Notes: MSG stands for MonosodiumGlutamate. It is a spice, found in your grocery store. It can be sold as MSG or under the brand name "Accent". Some people are extremely allergic to MSG, over 98% of the population is not. It serves to make flavors stronger, and almost pop right out at you. This recipe used to call for Fines herbs, but most people have difficulty in obtaining them. Fines herbs used to be used more frequently many years ago. Fines herbs was a poultry seasoning. Since so many people have difficultly in obtaining the herb, it has been removed from the recipe. If you can access Fines herbs add 2 teaspoons to the flour mixture.

They haven't used the recipe that was really good for about 35 years...it was a delicious product before and this 'version' is just lousy. The recipe for the old style is on the net and in books about how to make 'fast food' yourself. (They don't advertise the seven secret spices for decades if you notice...)
