I have, and I do, with a bit of pork thrown in! I'm on a high protein, no carb/sugar diet, and I eat mainly meats, white chicken meat, steak, ground beef, pork chops, pork roast, roast beef, peanut butter (high protein), eggs, cheeses, salads, low sugar fruits (kiwi, strawberries, pineapples), etc. I don't eat breads, or any flour products, no rice, no potatoes, no pastas....and I've lost about 175 lbs. It works for me, and my energy level is really high. Every once in awhile, I'll share a pizza with my daughter, or have one chocolate bar (in a month or two)...and do just fine. :)

Sure one would have to go easy on the steak. To much red meat is not a good thing. Fruit, veggies and grains along with it would make a fine diet. Very American actually.

I'm vegetarian... It wouldn't work for me...
But meat-eaters probably could. There are so many ways to fix both. You didn't say if "side-dishes" are allowed -- they would make it even easier to exist on such a diet.
Peace.
