If the answer is nooooo, then why would we have memories now, and why would we feel such a loss? Why make something in what is considered such a "short time"...and then take it away? I refuse to believe that we will not be able to see our families in heaven, and just linger on in the spirit not knowing anything. It would not make any sense to me.. Yeah, yeah, I know...If our maker has a perfect plan... but I want scripture backing both theories up. Or whatever religion you might be, I would like to learn of your opinion on this subject, and how you came to this conclusion about the afterlife.

"so if you know what your answer is then why are you asking the question? " Thats a good question. I am just wondering what everyone thinks. Maybe refusing was to harsh of a word, but, I am hoping to see them. I just can't comprehend not being able to see them. I wonder why people believe the way that they do? Not looking to agravate anyone, I am sincerely wondering... Thanks.

Hey opinionated: Can you share where in the scripture I could find that? "If a person goes to heaven, the bible tells us we will know and be known as we were on earth"

Many years ago, I was a much stronger "Christian" than, I am today... But, during those stronger days, I heard "Testimony after testimony" about heaven, and life after death... Christians and non-Christians, alike seeing "loved-ones" during their death (brought-back,by doctors) experiences.. They interpeted, it as more of a knowing it was a relative, then seeing them.. The bible says, when we die, we go into our "Lowly" bodies, so this could have something to do with why they couldn't exactly say, they saw them.. But, their spirit's let them know, it was of some sort of relation.. So, my answer, after, many testimonies, I feel is definately yes.. Even, those who really weren't "Christian's" I think we'll feel their presance, as well... Atleast until, "Judgement Day".. then, thats all in Gods hands.. But, feel comforted knowing many people have died, and came back, feeling their loved ones..all around them, and close friends..

What if, at the time of your death, departed family is the LAST thing on your mind? Wouldn't that be the best?

Truth is, we all have family and friends from many lifetimes, and they're just not worth keeping us from the Lord (no matter how much you feel attached to them now).

So if you see them, it's only at a "halfway house", and not the destination.

Heaven is hard to understand and define becausea we know nothing about it, save that our Master will be there. I personally believe that all whom we love in this life will be there, too. I mean, what kind of heaven would there be without my loving mother who raised me to be the man I am today?

Seek first His Kingdom and His Righteousness. Heaven will be there when we come. You can bet on it.

NO.
We have memories now because most of us have brains that funtion. When your brain ceases to function, so will your memories.
Short time? It's either immortal or you're not happy, huh? I'll take what years I have and live my life as best I can. I Can't ask for much more than that.

these memories are started from the moment we are cognitive and memories are little bits and pieces our families have told us and what we have seen throughout life! but to take a little bit of hope from the hopeless would be worse than just making them believe in another place and time!

Plenty of people who have had "near death experiences" have reported not only seeing their previously deceased relatives, but Jesus Himself and others. But for special reasons their time had not really come to be there with them and so they were sent back to Earth to finish their time here.

Why? There is no why. Ask a monkey why it can die from a broken heart when it's mother dies (it has happened, at least it starved itself to death), then tell me that monkeys also have a heaven. Not so simple

I believe we will see everyone in Heaven whom we want to see. But, remember, we will have our Heavenly bodies then. We will recognize them by their spirits.
