is the canon sd630 a good digital camera like one of the best out there if its not what is one of the best ones out there please help me decide

why is everyone so crazy about canons...oh yeah..i forgot my own theory...it's because of the looks..but honestly, canons are not the best...want to know why? check out my answer for question "i need a new camera..help"...
just an additional information..think about this...canon DSLR cameras have reached 16megapixels and maybe more now...and nikon DSLR are only up to maybe 7 or 8 megapixel...but yet, professional photographers still prefer nikons rather than canon...why? because it's not only the megapixel that makes the pics turn out great..in this DSLR case...nikon's cameras' megapixel beats others...even in the digital camera case...nikon's digital zoom (my sis found out that this is one of the stuffs that determines the picture quality) beats canon's and definitely sony's..
