I have eaten both.. Snake in AZ and alligator ,downin fla..Rattle snake is very good, sweet meat and I sure do like it...Alligator tail is also very good.. Not Chicken and not fish, but some place inbetween,..If you ever get the chance try it, bet you"ll like it.. ROB

I tasted alligator years ago. It was kind of chickeny, a light meat. I regret it now, I don't eat animals anymore.

I'd put it in the novelty category. People eat snake and alligator so they can say, "I ate snake and alligator." Wow, man.

Fried alligator tail is awesome. Snake probably tastes like chicken.

I have had alligator in a couple of things, and I really like it in chili. The issue for me is freshness since I had it in Florida and whenever I have had it elsewhere (say here in MD where I am) it has generally sucked. I have the same problem with seafood since I have had a lot of it fresh.

I had alligator tail at Outback Steakhouse. It was soooo good! It tastes a lot like chicken but much more moist.

I've eaten deep fried alligator. It was really good, but what deep fried dish isn't. Tasted like chicken.

we have a restaurant here in florida, call RJ gators,, first time visitors get free alligator bite sized appetizer,, it is really good,, kinda chewy but kinda like chicken,,, served with a cocktail sauce or horseradish sauce,,, i like them,, and i didnt think i would!!!!

No, never tried either one. I am so scared of snakes there is NO way I would eat it.
