You will find too many browns. It is a common name. Hemmings, you may find easier. You need more information. First names, dates of birth, place of birth, marriage, etc. If they are your ancestors/relatives, you can work backwards from your own birth certificate, to your parents, to your grandparents, etc. Then you can work forward. This takes time, you need to do it yourself. You can get advice on how right here, but you may find some of the Genealogy sites more helpful.

Without the name of a particular person and his/her birth date and place - a city, county, state (and country, if you are Canadian) it is impossible to help you. You don't appear to be the kind of person who wants to spend several hours a week researching, either. If I'm wrong, write to me via my profile and I will give you some links; also an apology.

Go to www.rootsweb.com and click on Search. You will have to have a first and last name and also a city/state and approx date will help. If you have a city/state then try www.usgenweb.com and click on the state you need.
