Depends on what Barbie you give them. If she's dressed in a mini skirt and a tank top its probably not a good thing for a little girl. And G.I.Joe is fine I think.

well, I don't think either of them really. Barbie dresses like a s***, not a good example. and GI Joe gives the idea of violence to children. I would stick with something like Rescue Heros it has a positive effect on children and they have all different kinds of neat toys out. My nephews have been playing with rescue heros since they were 4 years old and still do 4 years later. They never get bored of them.

I don't think they are role models, just toys. I never idolized G.I. Joe or my Jailhouse Bird when I was young young, I just played with them. It nevermade me want to be in the army.
Deffinitly the parents are the best role model, and if not that then older brothers and sisters.

well. they both are cruddy role models. G.I. Joe owns tons of guns and barbie encourages kids that society will only accept them if they have bleach blonde hair, plastic boobs, and wearing a dress size lower then zero. take your pick. but, i think neither are better or worse then the other.

GI Joe.
Barbie just teaches them to care about who they look and who they hang out with. But in the wrong ways.
GI Joe teaches kids honesty, patriotism, and morals.

Even though I don't like the physical ideal Barbie portrays, she at least is versatile. GI Joe is an army man, and that's about it. I never liked either for my kids!

Gi Joe because he at least is like a true soldier who will fight for his country. Barbie is dumb all she does is just sit and be lazy with all her lil girlfriends and play dress up and she is spoiled rotten. GI joe has to fight for what he wants!
