You dog is older, he could have sprained his leg but there are many different ailments older dogs can get. The best thing to do is take your pet to a vet. If money is a issue call around to see the best fees.

Take him to the vet. Older dogs should not have any stress and that could be stressing him out. Hope he will be OK.
You've taken him to the vet that vet has something wrong with him if he says nothing is wrong. Take him to a different vet in your area.

TAKE HIM TO THE VET!!!! Need I say more??!! Well I will say more.
Animals cannot fake being hurt so he sure isn't faking it!! And
I really hope the reason you haven't taken him to the vet yet isn't a money issue. Because you shouldn't have an animal if you can't afford to take care of it.

9 years old, yelps when you touch him and limps = VET ASAP! Don't waste your time asking questions on here and seek professional help from the vet.

Perhaps the dog has arthritis or leg cramps, if the veterinarian couldn't find anything obvious. You might try a different veterinarian. They vary in competence, just like human doctors.
