I think latex paint is often used in bathrooms and kitchens because moisture doesn't seep through it and it's easier to clean.

None oil base paint..preferably a gloss paint that will guard against moisture...Have you ever been in an older house or even a house with oil base paint in the bathroom? It can be gross be cause the paint will sweat and look like a mold develops or even worse like some body well it is gross!!!

I w ould suggest either a flat or semi-gloss oil based paint, but the most important thing to remember is adequate prep, before, sand, use tac cloth to remove ALL sanding particles, and when you paint, do it on a day that is dry, and low humidity, and well ventilated.
I like rollers with a drip shield.

I PAINTED MY BATHROOM CELING AND WALLS WITH FLAT LATEX WALL PAINT. ITS A SMALL ROOM AND THE FAN DOESNT WORK THAT WELL BUT THE LATEX HAS ALWAYS STAYED ON. THE ONLY REASON I EVER REPAINTED WAS TO CHANGE THE COLOR AND THATS BEEN YEARS AGO.

The best would be an oil-based enamel but it is difficult to use and to clean up.
