Eat several (5-6) small meals a day...your body will burn calories faster and build your metabolism in a short period of time.
(eat about every 2 hours)
The first 8-10 pounds you shed is water.
Meal suggestions:
1st: piece of fruit
2nd: string cheese, summer sausage, cottage cheese/yogurt
3rd: bowl of cereal
4th: soup/sandwich
5th: a good dinner-meat, potatoes/pasta/rice, veggie...your body needs carbs, protein and vitamins to stay healthy
6th: salad/raw veggies
Drink plenty of water
Drink milk or juice/water with every meal (no soda pop)
Stay away from munchies, fried & fatty foods.
Cardio workouts are great to lose weight and build muscle, most people do not continue for an extended time and gain the weight back... doing daily simple exercise like walking/hiking...swimming and biking are low impact, playing games like basketball, baseball, volleyball will tone your body and you'll have fun doing it.

Drink at least eight glasses of water everyday. One before and after breakfast, between breakfast and lunch, at lunch, two before dinner, one at dinner, and one before I go to bed. Drinking water is very good because it doesn't let you feel hungry, fills up your stomach, and cleans out the toxins and wastes in your body. For breakfast, I eat one or two fruits, epecially negative-calory ones such as apples, strawberries, and pears. Then, I usually run for an hou. I also go cycling on the cycling machine for an hour. Sometimes I do yoga or aerobics, which are really good for fat loss. I tried to cut down my diet to 4oo-500 calories. I don't at after 6:30 pm. I also try o cut down on breads and pastas because they have a lot of caRBS. Whenever I feel hungry, I usually drink a glass of water or eat a fruit. I know that here are 3500 calories in a pound, and that we burn 1ooo-2ooo calories naturally every day. So if you want to lose 10 pounds in 3 weeks, then you will have to burn about 3-4 pounds a week. To do this, you should burn 2000 caloies a day. If you eat 5oo calories a day and burn 1000 naturally, then I guess you will have to burn only 1500 a day.
Good luck.

True. If you eat healthy (1200-1800 good calories adepending on what your diet has been up till now), and exercise at least three times a week for a half an hour, you can healthily lose 2.5 lbs a week. Puts you at about 7.5 after three weeks, which isn't quite ten, but it's healthier, so you'll look better overall anyway.

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity. Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate this formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:
