Because that's the whole foundation of the ego thought system - the belief that I'm a unique individual, separate from everything else. Once this dualism is transcended, the fiction of the self (and its uniqueness) goes away.

Because something unique occured on my life and I feel unique that it did. It was something very special and although the few I told about this didn't believe me or in me, it is the absolute truth and I will carry it to my grave..........

I'm not, not really. None of us are. We may have different interests and different faiths, but does that really make us unique? We're all human, apart from our animal friends.
