You cannot COOK a potato on a BBQ grill, but it takes 35 - 50 minutes ( wrapped in foil or not ,depending on size of spud ) to BAKE a potato.

I wrap them in foil - twice to three times after they get a liberal rubbing with olive oil. You can also flavor them with theings like garlic or rosemary before they are grilled. If it is a charcoal grill I like to bury them in the coals for about 30 mins and then remove them. On a gas grill about 45 mins and rotate often...

Too long! Wrap it in saran wrap, put in microwave & wait 3-7 mins, depending on the microwave & size of potato.

30-45 minutes. We cook them all the time on campouts. Coat then with Crisco and wrap them twice with foil.
