No it isn't. It's a stimulant.

No but those energy drinks are unhealthy because of all the artificial garbage in them. Why not drink fresh ground coffee? You can get a grinder and beans and either get a small French press for on cup ata time or an esspresso machine -there are some stove top ones that are cool. If you don't like black coffee maybe you can make "cafe au lait" ... just a suggestion.

What's wrong with hallucinating anyway? LOL

No, its not true. Hallucinogenics would be banned as an ingredient in any drink.

But it is true that taurine is a nerve stimulant, similar to caffeine. And just like caffeine, it is easy to over-dose on it, so its healthier not too drink too many energy drinks.

And besides, they usually have a lot of refined sugar in them as well, which is also not good.

You may have been misled, Bodom.

It is a stimulant, and I found an interesting article for you to look at regarding research about Taurine and energy drinks.

There aren't any hallucinigens in energy drinks but it is a stimulant, meaning that it perks you up. I can't drink energy drinks because it makes me sweat and it raises my heart rate so I just settle for a bottle of coke instead (or a longer night's sleep...or a hearty and healthy breakfast).

The FDA would never approve a hallucinogenic in an energy
drink...but be careful with how your body responds to the
stimulants in some of these drinks...love the above answer!!!!
