Go to the website for your state's DMV. Most states will continue to honor your license until 30 days after you return to your home state if you are in the military.

Look up your old state on line many states do not make you get a new drivers license when you are on active duty and out side of the state.

If you have a drivers license from one of theses states and have a Active ID card you don't need to get a new one.

Oh and yes if your state still has your drivers license expire you can get a new one from whatever state you are in.

Check it out with your On Base Military Enforcement Section. They should have rules for all States and should be able to answer your question better then any one here as you didn't say what state you are from.

Or you can go on line and contact the State you are from by email or they may also have a 1-800 number you can call.

It is very important that you update your address with us each time you tranfer to a new duty station. You may be eligible to update your address using our ADDRESS CHANGE system. If it does not work for you, please provide your new mailing and residence (physical location) address, license plate number(s), legal name and current driver license expiration date. All vehicle and driving records are separate files in our system and must be updated individually.

While stationed overseas, please continue to keep your address updated with us. You are not required to maintain your Alaska registration while stationed outside of the USA. Once you return, please contact DMV for procedures on renewing your registration.

Original title work must be mailed to a friend or relative to hand-carry to DMV on your behalf. This includes obtaining an Alaska title in your name for a specific vehicle for the first time, changing a name on your Alaska title, or removing a name from your Alaska title.

yes. some states will just give you one when you show the one you have and others still will make you take at least a written test before you they will give it to you. but since you are in the military you license is good for as long as your in without renewing it. at least that was the way it was in the 70s

If you're in the military, you shouldn't have to, if it's expiring. You're not supposed to have an expiration date on your driver's license while you're active duty. But yes, you can get one from the state you're in, if you need to.
