You get busy having a life. Go dancing with friends, take your mom out for dinner, treat yourself to a new outfit, watch funny movies.

Do everything you can to make your life happier. Stay away from the ex. No phone calls, no text messages, no contact, etc. Pretty soon as you are out and about, you will meet someone new. Never start a relationship with talk about an ex.

After a while, the hurt will become less and less. One day you will ask yourself : "What in the world did I ever see in him? What was I thinking?" And you will be over him.

Trust me staying at home and being depressed won't do or change a damn thing. Get out of the house now and go do stuff with people/friends/whoever.

Go out with the girls girlfriend. Have fun. Do the things that you never had time to do for just yourself, like reading, crafting, just being lazy.

First be sad about it...second be pissed about it...third try to rationalize it....and fourth realize the truth of the situation and get over it. Its weird that breaking up is such a process.

Get your mind on something else. Hang out with friends, family, ect. Everytime he does come to mind, don't dwell on it. Let it go and get on with your life. Life is FULL of many suprises!
