Show them the kleenex box and gently remind them that we put our boogers in tissues. It just takes a lot of patiences and constant reminding. Tell the one that eats them that it is germy and might make him sick. (not exactly true, but it works)
I'm reporting BD10e to Child Protective Services...lol GEEZ!

Try being a teacher in a room full of preschoolers! I get grossed out every day! When I see a child picking their nose I say "It looks like you need a tissue." I then remind them to wash their hands. Make sure you have plenty of tissue boxes handy and that your children know where to find them. Tell the 2 year old that they can get really sick if they eat it. Tell the 4 year old to wipe it on a tissue.
Everyone needs to pick sometimes. Tell your children if they need to pick to go and do it in the bathroom and when they're done to wash their hands. Good luck!

This is a very age related issue. I have a 5 and a 3 year old. the 5 wipes the 3 eats... You just need to be consistant about telling them not to do it, don't make it a big deal, and when they are around other children, peer pressure will kick in... Oh, I also have two older children and we went through it then... It will get better...

They are entertaing thereselves because they are bored. Now it has or soon will become habitual. They need a different habit, toys, rewards for not picking. I am a teacher and I know from having a 2nd grader do it all the time how gross it is. Stop it now because the kids were very cruel to her and she had no friends because of this habit. Try coloring books anything to keep their hands busy, (not eating, bad habit)

Are they boys? It seems this is more a boy thing. I have a 17 yr old girl who never picked her nose, but my 5yr old is totally opposite. He used to pick & eat. I'd make him blow every morning & every night. I'd keep kleenex in his little backpack as well. but what I think really made him stop. When every i would catch him doing this I take the little blue nose thing that you use on babies. Its called a nasal aspirator & I'd clean his nose out the hard way & every time I caught him I'd pull it out. It's been almost a year & he doesn't stick his finger anywhere near his nose.

You can encourage your kids to stop picking their nose by showing them a picture of a person with very big nose holes (like a pig), and tell them that their nose will look just like that by the time they are an adult, if they continue to pick their nose.

Tell them that the job of picking their nose is done by the Bogeyman at night: and that if he doesnt get enough bogeys at night he gets angry: of course dont scare them too much ... if you see that it's causing them distress tell them that the bogeyman's gone or make them watch Monsters Inc!!
This usually works, but if your kids are sensitive, give this idea a miss!

i do no longer understand approximately you, yet as quickly as I tell my 2 a million/2 365 days previous to no longer do some thing, it is like instinctively he needs to do it. In my abode, as long as he's not hurting somebody or in danger of injuring himself, I try very problematic to forget approximately approximately annoying behaviours like that. as quickly as we moved back to my place of birth, we stayed with my mom for some months on an identical time as househunting. I were ignoring his nostril picking, and he did it in straightforward terms rarely. My mom have been given on him like a fat toddler on a smartie approximately it, and does not you recognize, the nosepicking better! while she became into around, he continuously had his finger up his nostril! I had to place my foot down and tell her to go away him be, basically forget approximately approximately it, and now, except he has a chilly (I grant Kleenex) he almost not at all does it. enable them to appreciate it bugs you and the behaviour will improve; forget approximately approximately it as much as you could and it will calm down.

the 4 year old will soon start putting on a piece of tissue and in the trash and the 2 year old will just have to decide that boogers are nasty.
