I rescued a kitten out of an abandoned barn and it had the same problem. It is an eye infection and you will have to take it to the vet and get some cream to put on the bottom rim of the eye. If you have other cats they can get the infection from the cat so try to keep them separated.

Take the cat to another vet if your regular one doesn't know what is going on with the ear thing. As for the eye discharge, it might be an infection that can be cleared up with a topical eye ointment from the vet.

Keep the vet on the case. Allergies make sense. Just like people, it may not affect all. I have one cat that has a cat version of pink eye and the other doesn't. The vet said, that isn't all that unsual...
Also make sure your litter is clean and home vacuumed. It makes a difference.
Good luck.

If you saw the vet and they didnt do anything- go to a different vet!!! PLEASE!!! my cat jimmy had a similar problem and it was torture but we had to give him eye drops twice/ day for a week and it went away. If its allergies, you may have to do this every year but its worth it is your cat has a draining eye.... and have the new vet check his ears too, if there is any ear discharge you may be dealing with earmites. If hes always itchy it may also be fleas.... Good luck!

Sounds like an allergy to me, keep the vet working on it. Change the food and the litter brand if you can. My daughter had to go to an all organic litter made of wood chips, and her cat got better from it's allergy. But food may cause it to. She tried several different foods before trying the litter. And like all humans, different cats are allergic to different things or not at all.

What did your vet say, if anything????? I would sure see another vet if this one does not help. Has to be a reason or it wouldn't be doing this. I sure hope you get the help you need. Did your vet give you something for allergies.???? I pray he gets better soon.

Here's an original thought....take the cat to a vet! Please be a responsible pet owner. That cat could be suffering because of you.
