Nothing in the bible says not to love your old friends. If you really loved them you would share with them the other Loves of your life. When I first found out I loved Lobster I made Lobster dishes for all my friends to share. When I realized the TRUE love of Christ I also wanted to share that ALWAYS with my old Wiccan friends. Interestingly enough I found out that most of them abandoned me when I no longer wanted to do the same things and kept talking about Jesus. Hmmm who rejected and stopped loving?? it wasn't me I still pray for them.

I can respect your search for a closer encounter with God. Sounds like you're looking to feel a stronger connection with God (or Jesus) too?
After having sampled many religions, I found it's less about the specific religion you choose, and more about the connection with the Higher Source you feel. Regardless of the how you label that force, or how you practice connecting with it.
And I think that can be established in a number of ways. My personal opinion is that "God" resides in all positive religious expressions in the form of a positive Universal force that connects everything.
Maybe you can handle being with your Wiccan friends by understanding that if they they are decent people, their religion doesn't really need to separate you from each other.
And not everyone feels connected to God (or Jesus) by going to a Christian church. If you carry God in your heart TG, then that is where you have established your relationship with God. Keep growing it there.

I'm not sure if I understand your question. Is it that you are having a difficult time making new friends at church? Or are you concerned that you will have to give up your old friends if you become a Christian?
It is natural to feel close to the people that you have been long familar with, and to not feel so close to your new friends at church -- whom you have just met & don't really know. Give your new friends a chance.
I don't see why you would need to give up your old friends just because you became a Christian -- unless they are a bad influence on you. If they are cool with the fact that you found Jesus and that you've changed, then what is the problem with keeping your old friends? If they don't like the fact that you have changed, or that you don't like to do some of the same old things anymore now that you are a Christian, then maybe they really weren't friends to begin with.

Where did you get the idea that you had to? Look at how Jesus spent his time, it was not with the most upright people. Becoming a Christian is not a running away from our friends or those that don't believe what Christians do, its a running toward them. Jesus came to wipe out the lines between the "good" people and the "bad" people. You always have three options in life. Judge. Join. Or love. Hope that answers your question.

There are so many answers on here that its hard to just believe one thing. On your quest for God this is what I know and I think anybody can relate but doing is the hard part. Love God, love others as you would yourself. That is the greatest command that Jesus said to the religious leaders! or the experts in the law! That is all that God requires of you is to love-your friends should support you if you decide another path. That is key in love, live and let live. I hope that you find God's true love cuz He is real and I think that you know in your heart what He is saying and its up to you to take that baby step. I wish you well in your journey and take care.

Why would you consider rejecting any friends? Wiccans are God fearing nature loving people...they do not worship, it is more an energy friendly belief...I think I am probably more attuned to that than other religions. Witches are not bad people...again, it is a matter of energy. And, stop searching for your God, you are already in his/her midst. You impress me as a thougtful, kind person with much knowledge. YOu are already connected with the Universe. You don't need further evidence than the company you keep. LOve to you and yours,

What do you mean by reject? I desire to love and serve God in all that I do and to follow Jesus daily. I don't "reject" anybody. I don't worry about what the people around me believe or how they live their sex lives. That's not important. What is important is that everyone is valuable to God. So I try to be loving, kind, and caring to everyone, as much as possible. But I do live a different life from many of my "friends" (I don't join in on behaviors that wouldn't be pleasing to God). I do pray for them and desire that they come to know Jesus and I do tell them about the difference that Jesus has made in my life. That's it. My closest friends are those who are also trying to live like Jesus.

If that had no foundation you would not be asking that question. Church? Never heard of it. Only the rejected and the condemned are there now.
Make the book your only priority. Only one of two things will happen. You'll be hardened and turn away, or become amenable and do what is required, and only you will know what that is.
Hope this helps.

why can't you have both sets of friends? I wouldn't trust any religion that dictated that you had to abandon any friends. There is more to all of us than labels, a person is much more than a 'wiccan' or a 'druid' or a 'christian' they are only labels, the complete person is multi faceted.
I have gay friends and wiccan friends and to me they are my lifeline, I wouldn't want to know the feeling of being without them

Because you are listening to satan who has a firm grip on you. Invite Jesus into your heart and life today. Repent of your sins, and ask Jesus to lead you in life, and He will break the chains that bind you to satan.
John 3:16-18
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
