So that Christianity can be perfectly one in the eyes of the rest of the world?

No I don't think it's wrong for you to wish that, but of course I would say that I'm a Protestant (only in the sense that I do not belong to the Catholic or Orthodox churches, I'm non-denominational), but I love Catholics, and I wish for them to become Protestant.

I agree that unity should be a priorty. There are a lot of differences between denominations that are not essential. But unity at all costs is not worthwhile. There are major theological differences between Catholicism and Biblical Christianity, and Mormonism, and Jehovah's Witnesses, etc (not that I believe the last two are Christian denominations, but some argue that they are), that ARE important and cannot be ignored or glossed over.

Not anymore wrong than a protestant wishing that you would become a protestant.
The bottom line is if you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for your sins and that He rose again from the dead. Those beliefs are what make a person a Christian; not if they are Catholic or Protestant. Jesus died for EVERYONE, not just Catholics or Protestants.

Catholics and Protestants will not agree, unless neither group understands what their denomination teaches.

The Council of Trent, in 1554, states what the Pope believes.
The Catholic Church still stands in agreement with this document and will not recant to say that it is unbiblical.

Protestants believe we are saved by faith alone...

Catholics:: CANON 9: "If any one saith, that by faith alone the impious is justified; in such wise as to mean, that nothing else is required to co-operate in order to the obtaining the grace of Justification, and that it is not in any way necessary, that he be prepared and disposed by the movement of his own will;

let him be anathema."

CANON 12: "If any one shall say that justifying faith is nothing else than confidence in the divine mercy pardoning sins for Christ's sake, or that it is that confidence alone by which we are justified

... let him be accursed"

Protestants believe we are made righteous by Christ's blood..once and forever.

Catholics: Canon 14: "If any one saith, that man is truly absolved from his sins and justified, because that he assuredly believed himself absolved and justified; or, that no one is truly justified but he who believes himself justified; and that, by this faith alone, absolution and justification are effected;

let him be anathema."

Protestants believe we will not loose our salvation because Jesus Christ has paid the full penalty of our sins...it is because of Christ's work, not ours, that we are saved.

Catholics:
Canon 23: "lf any one saith, that a man once justified can sin no more, nor lose grace, and that therefore he that falls and sins was never truly justified; or, on the other hand, that he is able, during his whole life, to avoid all sins, even those that are venial,- except by a special privilege from God, as the Church holds in regard of the Blessed Virgin;

let him be anathema."

Because of this document, and the Catholic Church's unwillingness to admit that their views do not hold up to scripture, Protestants will continue to protest.

Because of this document and the Catholic church's last comment.. Protestants are damned because we hold to scripture and Catholic church will not..

Catholic view: This council declares that if anyone disagrees with it, they are damned.

Mmmmm......good question. I am Protestant, and I love some Catholics, but I don't feel the need for them to change to my religion just so Christianity can be perfect in the eyes of the world. Who ascertains what is the perfect religion for the "WORLD" to be?
Belief ???? Believe in yourself don't worry about who belongs to what faith. You know.......ebony and ivory stuff......we are all one in the eyes of the Lord.
Oh!!!!! by the way,I Never discuss religion or politics............LOL

No, you want what you believe is best for them. This is what loving your neighbor is all about.

Just don't get upset or disillusioned if the stay Protestant.

With love in Christ.

Love a person for who they are, not what their religion is. I think God would prefer that over you taking His place as Judge and Jury.

No it is not wrong for you to feel this way. I think that every true believer in their faith would/should want others to follow in their enlightenment.
