I checked like four thesaurus and nothing came up. Yes I checked www.thesaurus.com. If you can think of one I would be very grateful and you would get 10 points. Preferably a synonym without the word life in it would be good, but I'll take anything.

You might be able to use cataclysmic (it doesn't necessarily *mean* life-changing, but in the right context it would do.)

"Cathartic" would be best, but implies a dramatic change. A subtler word would be "formative," but it really means something that made you the way you are.
