I am just trying to understand the group that rely on tangible evidence like dirt, hair, blood to prove something. What about falling in love or loving someone you can't bottle it and study it or when someone hates someone with a passion can you bottle that? Ya we have physical reactions and you can see a person if they are in love or hate someone.. sometimes, cuz if they are fake then you can't see what is truly in their heart that they may be fakin the funk or totally two faced (sure we've all experienced that). Only in their actions do you see the results, but before, til you didn't see it happen, you didn't know. So how can you bash or rationalize something you didn't know or havn't experienced? Doesn't make sense.....

You should research some of the early Greek philosophers, especially Plato and Socrates. There was much controversy over what to rely on- your senses (aka something you can see for example) or your reason (which could possibly pertain to emotion.) For me personally, I believe in both. There is the unexplainable intution as well as needing to "see something to believe it." But then again, with that last phrase there is always the example given by the Matrix- what if all that we believe and feel to be real actually isn't? Very complex question, but intriquing. I would def. check out some of Plato and Socrates, I'm sure you'll find their works on this interesting if you're asking a question as this. An easy way to understand them (if you're not a big philosophy reader) is check out the book Sophie's World. Enjoy!

You hit rather closely to the idea of it.
Feelings like love, they are not tangible, so we relegate those things as simply "subjective". But that can't be the case, "subjective" implies that it's contained to the individual. All people love, so it can't simply be something in one person. But there is no "objective" sign, tangible and real, for love. So where does it reside?
Long ago, it was thought that by looking around the outside of your own eye, you could see reality as it was, Absolute Truth, without having fleeting emotions persuade that view.
I guess to answer you, you can bash or rationalize what you haven't experienced if you believe in an Absolute Truth by which to judge that experience, by being rational and "objective" in your analysis and looking around your own eye.

Love is a chemical reaction in our brains, to make us want to breed when we see a good mate. We don't always breed now, because we are so highly evolved, that we use logic to overcome the animal desire, so we can breed when we want. Dolphins do the same. No, I don't believe in only things that I can see, but I don't believe in everything that I can not see. The difference is that I believe in invisible things, if they can be proved using scientific process, have evidence, and are reasonable. You can use none of that to prove god, Santa, the tooth fairy, ghosts, or any of your other imaginary friends.

Some people have what is called FAITH, and many rely on it more than anything. Religious peoples believe that God exists through faith because they have "miracles" occur to them to explain God's existence.
The people that believe humans are decendents of apes believe that through "evidence" of science.
Basically, everyone has their "tangible proof" even when it's not really there. They believe what they feel.

I believe in lots of things I can't see. For instance, God. For those that need tangible evidence, who can prove that air exists? We can't see air, or wind. We can see and feel the effects. And emotions/feelings too. We can't see them, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Or what makes up a single thought? We can't see thoughts but we all know they exist. I totally agree with you.

have you seen god? in a physical form? how can you justify your belief in him going by what a book said? what if you never read that book, what if you read another book before that? would you still believe in god or something else? faith is irrational and bears no logic. you cannot justify religion without being theoretical yet you criticize nonbelievers by not believing in an entity devoid of logic. in other words can't use logic to solve an illogical problem.

actually i think love and hate can be sort of "bottled" by looking at the brain reactions, the chemicals and hormones released and stuff like that...but that doesn't mean that we should only believe what we see because maybe certain things just haven't been found yet.

love is an emotion. it trriggers memories and reactions in the brain. "Love" is an emption allatchment to people, places and/or objects.
Hate is also an emotion. i beleive in what i can see. if i cant see it and it can be proven to exist then i might believe in that as well. the question is if its capable of being proven to exist logically and with the proper evidence.

I need evidence and if I fall in love at least the person I fall in love with is there, or at least real. I have never falling in love with a person that don't exist.
