"There are also people who are born with pedophiliac tendencies -- but that doesn't mean that pedophiliac behavior is okay!

Just because people are born with the orientation toward a given behavior, doesn't mean that the behavior is acceptable or even healthy.

And there's no question that homosexual conduct severely cuts people's life span and puts them at much greater risk for a whole host of deadly diseases."

Any response to her obviously ignorant reponse?

Julia is drawn to questions on homosexuality like a moth to a flame, She is an anti-gay bigot, here to vilify and defame gays and spread quite vile misinformation...she seems to have an enormous grudge against gays, that raises the obvious question ...Why?

She is soooo concerned for us gays that she has to spread filthy lies... we are not infants and she is not our kindly mother looking out for our best interests, nor is she better informed than most gays, she's certainly not accurately informed,

Note that she's against what she calls dangerous gay lifestyles but she's also against committed monogamous gay relationships and gay marriage...sorry you can't have it both ways unless you are completely anti-gay.

Why doesn't she give it a break... she knows she doesn't hold the moral high ground on this issue, she is totally on the wrong side of history. Anyone who tries to deny other people their civil rights is wrong.

No doubt she also wants to see desperate women at the mercy of back-street abortionists again also, a lovely creed not.

Let's call a sin a sin!
It is unnatural - just look at how the female and male bodies are made and that should be evidence.
We have become a harmfully permissive society, and people are being hurt by living in harmful ways under the banner of tolernace. There is indeed right and wrong, beyond what our society has grown to accept.
There are things that are wrong - just as you said, like pedophilia. But other wrongs such as homsexuality, abortion, living together without being married have slowly grown into American society because we have become desensitized over time into thinking it is ok.
There is"nothing new under the sun", it happened in Ancient Greece and Rome - and is man's rebellion against God.
No, the behavior is not healthy. It is harmful and opposed to how we are created.
We love the sinner and hate the sin, everyone deserves unconditional love.

Pedophilia is indeed a result of the cycle of abuse more often than not. Victims often become abusers.

But that's beside the point, as there is a HUGE difference between being a pedophile and being a homosexual. One is harmful to others, the other is not. Things we are born with that do no harm need no treatment or remedy.

When Christians start following ALL the little marriage/sex rules in the Bible, then they can talk about homosexuals.... and that means when all the remarried Christians leave their current adulterous "marriage" and return to their original spouse.

I sincerely hope that Julia was not implying that there is some link between homosexuality and pedophilia.

It should be understood that while it may or may not be argued that homosexuality is inherent, there is no psychological or phisiological evidence that people are born pedophiles.

Instead pedophilia is often the result of background and familial situations. Pedophilia can be corrected with intensive psychotherapy, but as with most people who suffer from various forms of sexual addiction and sexual dysfunction, pedophiles must work diligently to maintain healthy relationships or they risk becoming actual offenders... at least in their pre-offending state, they have not hurt anyone... yet. It's best that they get help so they don't cause irreparable damage.

Does it matter...you obviously only wan to hear what you want to hear. Julia is absolutely correct. Just because you are born with a desire to love men doesn't mean that it's right. We are all born in sin. Sin comes in many different forms and fashions. Some people love to steal, kill etc. Some may like members of the same sex. It's still wrong. Once you realize that you need a savior in your life that knows better than you then you are able to turn from those sins.

Homosexuality is a gene proven through DNA research. Pedophilia is sometimes a learned response. However Homosexual behavior is loving someone of the same sex. There is no love in pedophilia, like rape it is a crime of control. The person is comparing apples to oranges in trying to prove that her/his view is the correct one. Sorry

It is absolutely a nerve-wracking and neverending task to try to teach people any different when they think like Julia... so I can't help you.
I mean, granted, I could sit down and really discuss theory and science on the matter-- but people like her aren't going to listen--they are just going to sit and mute everything until we are done talking and then insert the same ignorance that's phrased differently so it seems like they were listening but it is obvious they weren't, that they aren't going to change their mind, and they aren't going to add any progress to such a conversation because they aren't asking new questions or considering ideas--they are still stuck in the orginal rut...
closed minded, and idiotic... oblivious and non-contemplative... denial and ignorant... oh. you know. at least half the world.

Ask her how she feels about homosexual pedophiles in the Catholic Church, and whether the (many) offending men of the cloth should receive more of a penalty than getting transferred. Sorry, I'm all out of serious answers today.

Wow, I try to warn people about sexual behavior that cuts one's life span even more drastically than smoking does -- and the "thanks" that I get is that I am "ignorant" and "full of hate."

If I hate gays because I think their sexual lifestyle is dangerous, then I guess that means that you all hate children for telling them not to play in traffic due to its obvious dangers.

But of course, I know you don't hate children -- and I know I don't hate gays.

She can't help herself. I reckon every time she answers a question on the gay/lesbian section she should be reported as she is straight and only goes onto that section to flame them anyway. She should be ashamed of herself.
