Ooooooo How can I put this so I don't upset U?
He's being a dog.
That's what happy dogs do after a bath. They run around like loonies & mess up UR posh brushing.
Try 2 leave him 2 get it out of his system, the running around then try & brush it.
Hopefully he'll B so worn out he won't muck it up that quickly.
Worth a try?

take him for a really, really long walk before bath time so he's a little bit tired out. Then take him for another shorter walk after the bath so he can't roll around and mess up his fur. All dogs go nuts when they get out of the tub. No real reason for that, it's just a dog thing. My dog absolutely LOVES to get a bath, and LOVES to have the blowdryer on him, but he still acts like it's a huge relief to get out of the tub and away from all that grooming.

Hes having fun why spoil it . he feels good clean and brushed so he rolls and plays. If you don't want him to do that then crate him for an hour after you have finished with his bath and brushing. But give him a treat so he doesn't think hes being punished ,and associate crating with the bath and somehow being put in solitary lol I have a 5lb smooth coat Chihuahua and she likes to really go crazy after her weekly bath . I just enjoy her wild playing .Oh and honey spending time with your dog is never a waste of time . Relax

Try to give him time between the bath and the brushing....dogs like to run around and roll on the ground right after there baths...so let him run around inside and if he wants to roll on the ground just let him.....then after he's calmed down while he might be resting or sleeping brush his hair and by that time he will be nice and calm....I do it to my dog because he's the same way after a bath...so I just wait and then brush him and he doesn't run or roll around....hope this helps :o)

Ok after you dry him off wait like, an hour before brushing him. then he can act like a retard before you brush him. If his fur is almost dry by the time the hour is finished, go ahead and brush him. Yeah, if he still acts likke a retard it won't be easy to mess his fur up when it's dry right? there, just do it! ( of course the next time you give him a bath!)

he's a dog. ussualy only show dogs can last more than 3 hours nice and clean.
as soon as i'm done washing my lab he'll run around and start acting like a fool and he will get all dirty.then i will tell him to sit an take off al the dirt.then if he runs i will tell him to sit. if he tries to get up and start rolling around i say no! firmly. and he will look at me with those big brown eyes as if saying PLEASE!!!! but i will turn around. i'l do that till i can turn my back on him with out him running and acting like a fool.
hope this helps!

only twice a month? i hope he is an inside dog...
its ok. my dog does that too. she is a beagle and she realy hates getting a shower. she tries to get out but she is a good dog enuf to stay still becus she is smart.
my dog is excited that the shower is over so she is like hyper a lot. and plus it helps her dry off
i think maybe u arent drying ur dog enuf and maybe rolling around to get the water off him. u can always hold him so u he cant roll around.

same with my dog but she has short fur. i read in a book once that they rub themselves in stuff because then they will blend in with the surrounding smells... kinda like camoflauge lol

My two chihuahuas do the same. I find that if you wrap them up in their favourite blankets they don't freak out as much.
Good luck.
