Try Greater Philadelphia Cares. On their monthly calendary, they have symbol to denote family-friendly events, so this way you can bring your daughter. They also seem to have a variety of events, with more stuff going on weekends so the timing seems rights.

Here is some contact information for you:
Greater Philadelphia Cares
100 South Broad Street, Suite 2200
Philadelphia, PA 19110

P: 215-564-4544

Since you would be a first time volunteer with this organization, you may need to attend an orientation.

Come to an orientation to learn about our organization, our mission, and how to volunteer at our wonderful volunteer projects - we have up to 100 opportunities each month. There are so many ways to help.

To sign up, please contact Terry Baxter at 215-564-4544 or email Terry@gpcares.com with your chosen orientation date and location - and be sure to include your daytime phone number!

Good luck!

I'd recommend looking into volunteering with Girl Scouts.
Your daughter will have fun and most likely will benefit from your involvement in this program. You should be able to find some niche in the program to meet your time / day constraints.

Volunteer to give out water at a 5 or 10k race on a Saturday or Sunday. They will be happy to have your daughter help with this. Or if you want even more excitement, man one of the early mile water stops at a 1/2 marathon or marathon. Races also need volunteers to help out with registration, to hand out t-shirts, to give out food after the race, and to yell out times at mile markers. Many of these races are put on to raise money for a good cause so you would really be helping out in a tangable way. For races in your area, go to Raceplace.com and click on a race. There will be contact info in the description. If you don't find a race near you, feel free to email me, and I can probably find one for youl
God Bless You for wanting for wanting to volunteer!

its great that you want to volunteer and help out in your spare time...i think you can try organizations that involved in helping young children and your daughter could also be part of the organization... something like Big Brothers & Big Sisters of America...this organization is something like a mentor type of program for young children where you meet with a "younger sibling" from the organization and you just hang out once a week with them... at the same time I think you daughter could be part of the fun....

Have you tried your local SPCA, Humane Society or animal shelter? They need alot of help on the weekends because that's when most people come in to adopt.

Your daughter would be helpful to socialize the kittens and puppies with children and humans in general. Just playing with the babies will get them ready for adoption!
