I did not do so well on Zoloft. Had VERY loose stools every morning and one day I forgot how to make toast. (Buttered the bread before toasting instead of after and it took me several moments to figure it out..duh!)
I switched to Lexapro and this seems to be working better for me, so far. Every one is different. My doc told me to start with half dose for first 6 days and then bump up to full dose after that. Good luck!

I was on Zoloft about 7 years ago for depression, I was up to 150 mg. After 2 years I decided to go off it.
I was then put back on it about 2 years ago, this time it did nothing to me, infact it made me more irritable, 6 months after that I was diagnosed with Bipolar. I am on different meds now, I am still not right but I am getting there.
Good Luck.

i started by taking 25 mg's for 1 week..it made me really tired for about 4 days and zombie like (thought they were going to have to buy me a dribble bib) i also couldnt eat anything because i was severely nauseated not to mention the extreme diarrhea...i went up to the 50 mgs.for three days and on the 2nd and 3rd day i was emotionally happier but i had a panic attack and that was it i was done...it took about another week after stopping to want to eat and be able to use the bathroom normaly...i lost a total of 10 pounds in the 10 days i was on it...and the doc gave it to me because i was freaking out about being pregnant....i really wanted it to work and i tried to stick it out but it was no good....good luck everyone responds differently to this med..

Zoloft is a good medication..keep in mind it can take awhile for you to feel it's full effects.

I have been taking it since I was 8 and I have never been better. I do not freak out as much as I used to and I don't get attacks anymore. Unfortunatley my mouth tastes really bad after taking it.

I had a friend in high school that took it, and she said it made her depression and other symptoms worse. I've also heard other people talk badly about it, but everyone is different, so I hope everything works out for you whatever you decide.
