I just had my 3rd child via cesarean and I distinctly remember bouncing right back into my jeans with the 2nd pregnancy. I gained the same amount of weight with every pregnancy (20 lbs) and this time it's just not working! I have to go back to work next week and I can't fit into anything~can't afford to buy a new wardrobe either. I am pretty depressed about it actually!

Does it take longer to bounce back from a pregnancy if you've already had a couple?

Yes it does- sorry- unfortanetly for each baby you have- as you get a little older your metabolism breaks down . Making it harder to maintain that pre-pregnancy weight... And as for the bouncing back-- it takes longer for your body to heal- and being depressed
doesn't help- there are places that you can shop at- consignment shops- used clothing stores that are actually pretty good- and agencies that can help you with clothing- don't be afraid to reach out for help- call your local resource center.
Remember if &when your happy about yourself others will see it & baby will benefit too.

Well to answer your question, yes, it does take longer to get back into shape the more kids you have. I have two kids. a boy and a girl and I waited 9 yrs. to have my second. She took most of my butt and hips are wider. So even if I do lose all the weight my shape is different now. I guess it's another thing that us women have to deal with. Don't be depressed about it, just start walking or running or aerobics and watch what you eat. By the time you know it, you will lose all you weight and you may get into some jeans and other you may not, depending on your shape now. If you know someone you can borrow clothes for now until you lose the weight or if they have a "CATO" where you are at, they have cool clothes at affordable prices. Hope that helps.

It is harder with each one, I think.

If you're not nursing, you can cut out the empty carbs (white sugar, flour), make sure you are eating protien when you are hungry, lots of veggies and berries. Try to get a walk in every day and ESPECIALLY lift some light weights 3 times a week. Remember that 85% of your success will be diet, and only 15% exercise.

I've had 3 kids, and lost 70 pounds after my second. Now I'm about to have my 4th and final and I've only gained 12 pounds this time. Every time you have to concentrate on you for a little while, as hard as it may be. Take care of your baby's momma!

With every child your body takes an enormous amount of abuse. This is the reason it is so hard to get your body back in to shape. With every child it gets harder and takes longer.

There are a few things that help, you might consider trying this time since you're having problems. Obviously diet and excersize will help you get back into shape. Breastfeeding will also help. Getting sleep will help you have energy to do those things you know you need to do. Good luck.

Yes it takes longer each time to lose the weight back but you should try diet and walking and doing plenty of sit ups that will work fairly quickly also drink lots of water and good luck i know how you feel.

Yes, it does. You have to put twice the effort to get the same results. Its a pain but worth it in the end. Just remember to take it slow until you've healed properly. Good Luck.
