I received an e-mail that stated Starbucks does not support the war or our troops. Is there any statement from Starbucks that confirms or denies this?

It's not that they don't support them, they just refused to send free coffee to them.

Does Starbucks Support Our Troops

2017-01-20 13:34:16 · answer #2 · answered by mobus 4 · 0 0

I am living proof that Starbucks supports our troops. Starbucks hired me knowing that my Fiance was in Iraq and would be coming home in only a few months and I would have to leave the state. I leave in 2 days, I gave them notice and they completely understood and I wasn't given any impolite responses whatsoever. Starbucks supports our troops by hiring their wives, girlfriends and fiances, and Starbucks supports me. Dont believe everything you hear.

Addition: The fact that they refused to send coffee to them is crap. As most people know Starbucks owns Seattles Best, My fiance's troop was given pounds and pounds of Seattles Best coffee, I think they only just recently ran out.

PS I live in Seattle "the liberal city" that person spoke of. Washington is not against our troops. We have a major Army Fort here. Ft. Lewis, look it up.
Gosh people, do some research before you ASSume

People get things REALLY confused. Starbucks just denied a request to donate a crapload to the troops who are fighting, it DOESN"T mean they don't support the troops.

I support the troops, as we ALL do. They are in harms way of course, and I care about them because they have family's. But I don't support mindless war that seems to go on and on.

Put it this way, if you ask for 5 bucks, and I don't want to give it to you, does that mean I don't like you? Of course not, not always.

That's a hoax. The way I figure it is this: Some seventeen years old kid, working at Starbucks, for some reason got upset with his supervisor(s). Instead of taking it up with them, he decided that it would be more practical to attempt to defame a public corporation.

Back when I first heard this, I looked up the actua ews stories, and Starbucks did send coffee to the troops.

Starbucks Rumor Response

You may have heard a rumor about Howard Schultz, Starbucks and the Israeli army. The rumor is false. Neither chairman Howard Schultz nor Starbucks fund or support the Israeli Army.

Starbucks is a non-political organization and does not support individual political causes.

Whenever I hear a rumor like this, I go to www.truthorfiction.com
They do all the research for you. That rumor simply is not true. In fact, Starbucks sends coffee over to the troops.

Whenever you receive an email about that sort of thing, just assume it's false. Those kinds of rumors and lies make their way around the internet all the time.

And if you think about it, it's total nonsense. I don't see why starbucks would have any official position on a war - it's a coffee company - and it doesn't make any sense that it would condemn the soldiers of its home country.

Don't believe everything you read in emails.

IF the email was true there would be 2 things about it. 1. starbucks is MOSTLY intended for yuppies who happened to be hippies during the vietnam war, who of course oppose all wars. 2. soldiers LOVE coffee, it is our life's blood, and starbucks being expensive is at least good coffee, much better than army coffee...eeeehhhh, but it gets ya goin.

purely to set the record immediately. I genuinely have a chum who's an assistant manager at a Starbuck's, and they do have a application for helping the troops. She is in cost of this technique at her shop, and she or he shipped a bunch of espresso and resources out to us the different week.

It's not true, Starbucks says:
Starbucks has the deepest respect and admiration for U.S. military personnel. We are extremely grateful to the men and women who serve stateside or overseas. We sincerely appreciate that they are willing to risk their lives to protect Americans and our values of freedom and democracy. While Starbucks as a company cannot directly donate to military personnel, many of our partners (employees) show their support by donating coffee.

Starbucks partners receive one pound of free coffee each week as an employee benefit (known as "partner mark-out"). Many of our partners have elected to send their weekly mark-out of coffee to members of the military or military families, and related organizations. Our partners have collected and shipped numerous pounds of Starbucks coffee overseas.

As an example of this generosity, our partners in our Atascadero, California store sent their weekly mark out coffee to troops in Afghanistan so they are able to enjoy a little piece of home. Our customer relations department in Seattle donated hundreds of pounds of coffee to the sailors in the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier group.
