The concept of a soul has no scientific backing...all personality and thought come from the chemical reactions in the brain, which cease when the brain dies...so there can be no "scientific" definition.

Your soul is all of you, the whole being.
God is a spirit John 4:24; God is a soul 5:9,29; 9:9; Isa.1:14;
Adam and Eve were created souls, in an environment where he lived 930 years to die in the 1000 year day he sinned in. If bible does not explain soul, life, death, spirit, sin, resurrection and such, no any thing can or does.
All souls after Adam and Eve are born, those before the flood in an environment to have a longer life, but by sin, the eternal life day was lost, after the flood, the life sustaining earth was lost and Life became so much shorter that Shem died at age 600, 25 years before Abraham died at age 175, Eber lived 4 years after Abraham, end of the first 20 souls in the genealogy of Jesus.
Isaac lived to be age 180, Jacob age 147, Joseph age 110, Job age 140, and
Levi age 137, Kohath 133, Amram 137, Aaron 123, Moses 120. Deut.34:7;
At 450 years later Samuel age 100, then king David age 70 and Solomon age 69. So 997 before Christ and 3069 after Adam the age had been reduced to what it is now.
1Cor.15:22; As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
We have a promise to be resurrected souls. Jesus at Luke 8:50,52,54,55;
Her spirit came back into her and she became a living soul.
Num.16:22; The spirit of God, is the life of the soul. Gen.6:3; For sin, life is short and temporary, full of trouble and the only truth known is that we will die.
There will be a new heavens and a new earth or that before Eden restored.
John 6:39,40,44,54-58; John 14:3; 1Thes.4:15-17; The new heavenly body to heaven in their being of the first resurrection.
Rev.20:1-6,12,13; 1000 years with Jesus to all is perfect.
Jude 6; 2Pet.2:4; Luke 20:34-36; Angels do not die, angels that sinned wait for the judgements.
Psm.104:29,30; Eccl.12:7; The spirit returns to God. Heb.9:27; It is appointed unto man once to die and after this the judgement. Souls born in sin Eze.18:4; From Adam through no fault of soul, so God provides a SAVIOR.
In the resurrection, it returns to give life to the soul Eze.37:12-14; James 2:26; Psm.7:2; Psm.115:15-17; Psm.146:3,4; Isa.26:19; Acts 2:31-35; Acts 24:15; John 5:26-29; Dan.12:2; The resurrection for the new earth.

Is there scientific evidance how big this universe is? This should be a easy question for science but they are unable to answer this simple question. How they know what the soul is when soul information is with God only.

Yes, as good as any I've seen so far. Then again, some of those "souls" don't get to fly, I think some burn or something like that. Weeping and gnashing? Who knows? Oh that's right, lots of people claim to know. Good for them.

I heard this one philosophy guy describe it as a kind of "social identity." He said we hold and value it above our physical existence. In fact, according to this guy, in order to preserve its existence, we're even willing to commit physical suicide. Thus a man jumps on top of a grenade to save his comrades. His certain physical death is secondary to preserving this other "self." In that sense, the souls is "deathless" to us.

That is maybe your definition but how can science define that which does not exist? It can't therefore the definition you give is your opinion, nothing more.
