It depends on if your kids want to share a bedroom or not. If they do then you only need 2 or 3 bedrooms but if they don't then you'll need at least 3. (Depending on how many kids you have). Our house is just over 2300 sq. ft. and there are 5 people living here but I think your house will be fine.

I'm not sure about dimensions - but just looking at how many bedrooms you have. If you have 2 kids of the same sex within a few years of each other, a 2 bedroom home will do - and 3 would be plenty. If you have 3 kids, then a 3 bedroom is perfect. I wouldn't put more than 2 kids of the same sex in a bedroom.
I have 5 children - 3 boys, 2 girls. Expecting twins. We live in a 5 bedroom home, with 3 full baths. We have 2 family/living rooms, kitchen/dining room area...it's a big house. Own an acre of land. We're looking to turn one of our family rooms into another bedroom, to accomodate the twins.

I don't know our square feet for sure. We have three small bedrooms, 2 full baths, a living room, small office that was added on to the living room and a large kitchen and a laundry room. We have a decent sized yard. There are two adults and three kids (3, 5 and 7 years old) in our house and we are TOO CROWDED. I often refer to it as "you know when they put too many mice in a cage and they start to turn on each other...that's what it's like in this house." We can't wait to be out of here into something bigger, but unfortunately it'll be a couple more years before we can move.
1650 *sounds* small to me for 4 or 5 people, at least once the kids get big enough to be active.

Sounds like your house should be fine. However, this will depend on how far appart you plan on having your kids and whether they are all boys, all girls or both.
Also, how often do you have people visit, like Grandma or relatives that would need to stay in a guest room, if they don't live in the area? We have an extra guest room because most of our relatives live across the country and we have someone visiting half the time.
Boys or girls close in age should be able to share a room without a problem (until they reach teenage :).

My house is 1573 Square Feet and there are 3 of us. We have a spare room.
With 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, we could support another child. Your house doesn't have to be huge to do that.
I have seen people with 2 kids in 1200 squarefoot apartments.

Our house is 1100 sq ft. We have a huge fenced yard, 3 BR, a bath and a half and the rest of the rooms you need in a house. There are 5 of us and 4 of them will be over 6 feet tall when they are finished growing. LOL
Yeah, we're getting ready to move. It sounds like your house is exactly what I need. Maybe one more bedroom though.
Your house should be fine for your family!

Sounds good to me, except for the yard thing. I can't tell you square footage, but we have three bedroms (three adults living here now, used to be two adults and four children - cramped!), a living room, parlor, kitchen and one full bath. It all works out.
As long as you have two rooms for the two kids you should be fine. I've always felt kids should have their own room. It will cut down on the personality conflicts a teensy bit if they each have their own space to claim.

It depends on what you are comfortable with. We have a 1500 sq ft house with 3 bd 2bth and have 11 people living in it. 8 are kids. Of course that is a temporary arrangement. Without my sister and her kids it would be me, my husband and our 5 kids. I think you house is big enough for the family you want.

In Australia I live in a 2,600 square foot home with four bedrooms, three bathroom...there is lots of space and we could probably go smaller, but my daughter has plenty of room to play both inside and outside. There is enough room for another child in this house...
In the US in live in a 2,010 square foot home with three bedrooms and two bathrooms....there is enough room for one more child...in that house...if we do decide to have three kids we need to replace the house in the US with a bigger on....more like the size of the house in Australia...
I think that realisitically you need about 2,000+ square feet for a family...dont forget that kids grow into teenagers and like their own space eventually. make sure that you make plans for when you kids grow up...they wont be little long....
