I stand all day for my job and my legs hurt a lot already from that, too much to drag my butt out of bed in the morning to jog.

Start by not eating any carbs after 4pm. Eat a healthy breakfast, eating good food early in the day gets your metabolism going. Drink water before, during and after each meal. Stay away from alcohol as much as possible. Weight lifting helps you burn calories and lose weight a whole lot faster than running ever will, so if you can hit the gym and work everything but your legs.

Diet! Diet! Diet!

Whether you want to lose 10lbs, 15 lbs, 25 lbs, or, (gasp!) more, the key to losing and maintaining lost weight is the establishment of good constructive eating habits in conjuction with a diet that allows you to want properly. The calorie level of the diet best for you is best determined by your personal doctor and/or a nutritionist if you have one available.

But before you do anything else, may I suggest you take note of what you eat on a usual basis. Not just for one or two days, but over the course of a week or so. At the same time you should start focusing on eating 3 meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Space is precious here so I really do not have enough room or time to go through this in full, BUT!

In 1980 (age 34) I went into a diet program with no firm goal (I lived by myself, and continue to), expecting to lose 25 lbs if I was lucky (I weighed 200+ lbs). 3 months later I had dropped 50 lbs, and shed another 10 lbs over another 3 months.

Although the first 25 lbs came off as the result of a liquid protein regimen which I do not reccommend especially for only 10 lbs, it was the higher "real" food diets in which I lost most of the weight. 3-4 lbs the 1st weeks, then 2-3 lbs and so on. No matter how badly you want to lose weight, eventually your body should reach a "natural" weight where losing any more really is not good for you.

So, start eating a balanced diet. Make sure you are having 4-5 servingsa of fruit, and 5-6 servings of vegetables (a good salad can account for 2-3 of those servings). Include 1-2 tablespoons of salad dressing (as a fat serving(s)). Drink 10-16 oz of (low fat) milk, eat 6-8 oz of meat (try to stay away from sandwich meat), and 6-7 servings of bread (cereal (non swetened), potato (boiled best, but baked are also good). Butter, mayo count as fat servings so try to stir clear.

If you do it right, it will probably take 3-4 weeks to drop 10 lbs. OH! If you aren't already doing this, take a good multi vitamin pill (Theragran M, Unicap M, etc). Find one with minerals as well as vitamins. And it might not be a bad idea to start taking a vitamin E pill, too. But this all something you should discuss with you doctor.

Good Luck.

There's no rule you need to jog to exercise or even that it needs to be done in the morning. And it doesn't have to be done all at the same time during the day - three separate 10 minutes of something throughout the day is as good as a half hour all together. And you can get exercise in many different ways - anything that makes you move is exercise - even housework, gardening, decorating, rearranging the furniture, etc.

Trade off some things you eat for lower calorie versions

Set attainable goals. Be aware of social gatherings and let yourself have a little "oops" if you want to. Plan for it and eat lighter that week. Afterwards, start on the diet again.

STOP EATING BAD FOODS!!!

Burgers, fries, bread, soda, fast food, and all that other stuff you know you shouldn't have.

If you say you're on your feet all day, well great! you don't need to do much else. Just pls watch what you eat.

Start with yogurt in the morning. Then have a shake (slim-fast_ or Special K cereal w/ reduced or non fat milk. then a good "normal" meal. Small portions....

If you get hungry ofter (and since you're a busy body) make sure your snacks will not counteract all your walking.

try carrots (no dressing), fruit, ice, and such

also, DRINK ENOUGH WATER to outlast a Camel.
so what if you have to P 20 times a day, hey! you'll be getting more "breaks" from your walking.

You'll need to work out as soon as you awake in the morning. Jogging is the best for this, but almost any cardio will do. I use DDR, Dance Dance Revolution, I have lost 20 pounds and am now just toning muscle and swimming. But yes, eat less more...Like 5 small meals a day will doo. lots of fruits and vegetables AND WATER!!!!

The best thing that i have noticed in loosing weight is to just watch what we eat no cokes and that is the hardest thing. You know if you can at least start walking and doing at least 5 mins a day exercise and then work your way up. I know that works because my mother had to do that due to her health and she looks better than me now. she is 52 and i am 28. so i can recommend you to start that way just watch what you eat and do the exercises that you can for at least 5 mins and then as the months go by you will be able to do more and you will be able to see the difference.

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity. Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate this formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as white potatoes) and drink lots of water.

Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/PyramidLRG.gif?osCsid=26a424be471d1337e7c2f105d5c64d9d

*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.

Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. A great book to buy that teaches you the resistance training basics is “Weight Training for Dummies”. A superb magazine to buy with resistance training routines that will not get you bored is "Muscle and Fitness". Signup for the free newsletter. An excellent free online resource is at http://www.exrx.net/

A good book to buy that teaches you the cardiovascular training basics is “Fitness for Dummies”.

*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.

*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A superb book to read is “You The Owner’s Manual”. An excellent periodic publication is the “Nutrition Action Health Letter”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com

Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. I've recently lost 14ibs due to the hot weather just by eating salad and fruit, completely cut out sugary stuff and just a small piece of chicken now and then. Always have salad in the fridge to nibble on if you feel hungry, but don't add mayonnaise or salad cream.

I just finished a diet called 18in4. You are supposed to be able to lose 18lbs. in 4 days; however, I only lost 11lbs., but that was still pretty good for 4 days, and it helped me get under my plateau. Anyway, you eat pretty normal stuff-the diet tells you exactly what to eat and how much-you don't starve. I can give you the website; however, it did cost money for me to get the diet, so it is your decision (you can look on the website without paying-you just pay to get the diet). the website was 18in4.com

don't think about dropping the pounds. just try and focus on living a healthy lifestyle (good diet and excercise).

drink lots of water, eat tons of fruit, have breakfast ( a good one), eat (yeah, split your day into 5-6 different, small meals. it'll increase you metabolism), excercise atleast 20 minutes 4-5 times a week, and don't eat anything after 8 PM.
