now people are saying - let your husband teach you things .. hes got to be the biggest "sinner" in the world, frankly, hes in no position to teach me.

That's hard, marriages are a lot easier when you share the same core beliefs.

It sounds like you've been very hurt in the past. It's understandable for people who are been through really hard times to prefer to believe in nothing rather than a higher power that would let such bad things happen to them. I think a higher power would let bad things happen to good people for a couple of reasons. 1) It helps you to learn and grow 2) It's for somebody else's benefit, there's somebody you can help because of your experiences, that nobody else can or 3) You get hurt because that higher power gave people the ability to make choices, and some folks make bad choices.

if your husband wants you to believe in something he should be willing to talk with you about your past. Try to find things together that you both can believe in, even if it's a little vague at first. You mentioned, that you don't believe that death is the end - that's a good a place as any to start.

Best wishes.

Yes- what would our purpose be on this planet if there was nothing after? You don't think we have a purpose in this life? You don't believe that God created the world? How do you think it got here? Just because you had a hard life doesn't mean you can't believe. You have to believe and trust God in order for your life to turn around- he doesn't just do it. Let me tell you, I have been a christian my whole life - but... many times I have stopped going to church- not because I didn't believe anymore, but because it got in the way of things or I wanted Sunday to rest, or I was too busy- you name it, it was my excuse. But - every time I stayed out of church my life went down hill - every decision I made was wrong everything happened wrong - and I always felt - what did I ever do to deserve this? Well God didn't turn his back on me- I turned my back on him. When I would realize this and start going to church again, it was amazing the turn around in my life. Things started happening for the good and my decisions were finally right, and I didn't feel "cursed" anymore. You see, You have to help yourself for God to help you. Once you get on the right path, you will see your life turn around.
If your husband believes- maybe you should let him teach you some things. I am telling you- you will see a difference.
Sorry this is so long, I just wanted to make a point and get you to think about your decision.

Are you wrong? It depends on what the truth is. If you choose not to believe in gravity, you will still splat on the pavement should you step off the roof of a tall building--so the truth of whether or not there is really gravity matters. If the truth is that there is a loving, yet holy God, sin, hell, forgiveness, and heaven and you choose simply not to believe, then you will be in a tough spot if you find out that death is not the end for us. Choosing not to believe is a choice all the same. Are you sure it's the right one?

You are right about one thing, when we die we dont just die, we just lose our flesh and blood,. But what's inside still sticks around. I cant define it, or i could, but im scared that i might confuse you more. I had a hard life growing up too, but when i look back at those times i see that i could have never made it if there wasnt someone watching over me. Dont discount God for the sins of mankind. That is exactly what the enemy wants you to do. And if you dont believe, please believe anyway. Jesus said that if your measure of belief is only as samll as a mustard seed, that that is good enough for Him. God is our father, and he wants to love us more than we could ever imagine if we just give him the chance.

Its your prerogative not to believe in anything, but I feel even if you don't see God, you should try to
have faith. There's got to be a supreme being out
there. From my own experience, I feel when I pray that somehow someone is listening and I feel better and less stressed. Maybe when your life was really hard, God was actually with you or it might have been even harder, Try to read "Footprints" you'll surely find the poem on the Internet, just write in Footprints, and you know what I mean,
Good Luck to you!

So things didn't happen to you the way that you wanted them to, does god have to give you every little thing that you want before you'll say yes to him? Does your husband have to do everything you say or you'll divorce him? I can understand that sometimes times are hard, however god may have a greater idea of what is going on than you do. As little people on this planet we lack the perspective to know what is best. Bad things happen to good people, but good things happen to. All you can do is your best everyday.

Life is life, I'm sure many others have had a worse upbringing than yours. That is no excuse for not believing, however, you are entitled to believe what ever you want. I want nothing but happiness for you and your family, therefore, it would do wonders if you put your faith in God. He makes old things new and turns pain to joy. I'll pray for you.

I'm sorry you don't have anything in your life to believe in. That is so sad, you must have really had it rough. I hope some good comes into your life and brings you something to believe in. As far as your husband, I just wouldn't discuss it with him until you are ready. Best wishes to you.
