Good sir, I have been saying that for quite some time now. Read your bible, Jesus was a hippy. He preached peace, love, and no war.

Jesus would be shocked at our retaliations in this country.

They (not me) would say that Jesus changed the world such that His views, which were liberal at the time, are now conservative. We crazy liberals are trying to go too far, in their mind.

Of course, they're wrong; Jesus wants us to go further - do more to protect the rights of the individual, do more to support and protect our neighbors, etc.

How do you know what political orientation Jesus was?

He was address as rabbi (teacher); however, it was not clear which group Jesus belong.

In fact, Jesus said his kingdom was not of this world; conservatives and liberals are.

But I guess the four accounts were not good enough, since you like to add your own opinion.

Here are the facts: Jesus was a Jew; he was a rabbi; he was executed; God raised him from the dead; and he will return. Do you really think Jesus would care for your labels?

Frankly, I don't know why I wasted the time for this answer; maybe it is because I read the book and you haven't.

i'm no longer quite a Christian, and that i have a difficulty with Liberals and their way of wondering (I have an similar gripe with conservatives, yet thats yet another tale). Take the liberal stance on unlawful Immigration as an celebration. The Libs say, "Make all illegals voters". Now why do I dislike the concept? even as I believe area of their reasoning, i locate the concept lacking. in case you legalize all of them to save money on monitoring them down and on deportation, ok, yet by technique of doing so that you deliver an open invitation to everybody contained in the exterior international to bounce our borders. What stops the issue from continuing to the point the position we've some thing of the worlds social leeches living off individuals? it truly is the kind of wondering I see from Liberals that leaves a foul style in my mouth. i'd say i'm also discouraged with conservatives. i ought to provide an truly good celebration utilising the placement of the position they stand on gay marriage, and why their perspectives are thoroughly moronic... yet back, you requested about Libs.

The term "liberal" is meant to describe one who is open-minded about all things in regard to preserving the basic rights and liberties of all. However, in recent years, that term has somehow come to represent those factions that are opposed to liberty in practice; for example, the Socialist and Marxist movements. The so-called "Left" or "Ultra-Left" terms represent Socialist and Marxist movements that have infiltrated certain political systems or parties. Conservatives wish to preserve the basic freedoms of United States Citizens, but as they are most often represented by the "Ultra-Right," or fundamentalist religious factions, they are not all-inclusive in their thoughts of basic rights protection. Moderates are probably the only true liberals in the political arena, as they are able to see both sides of a situation, analyze it, and then make their decisions based on their own analysis, not by what others tell them to do.

Early Christianity, before it was formally organized in the Council of Nicea, was a true representation of what Jesus taught... peace, harmony, kindness and compassion to all. There is very much speculation that Jesus spent his so-called "missing years" in India, where he learned the attributes of kindness and compassion from the Buddhists in that country. There are several books which compare the teachings of Jesus and the Buddha, who existed 500 years before Jesus. Bringing his teachings back into Judea, which was under the control of the Roman Empire, Jesus was condemned as a heretic for daring to suggest that the common man had divine nature... that was only reserved for Caesar, as far as Rome was concerned.

After the crucifixion, Paul of Tarsus, who some people call "Saint Paul," and who started out as a bounty hunter for the Roman Empire, upon his so-called "conversion," was responsible for injecting much of the self-deprecating, judgmental, discriminatory and intolerant aspects that now, unfortunately, typifies the beliefs of the extreme right fundamentalists today.

On the other hand, some Socialists and most Marxists (Communists) are aetheistic, or do not believe in God or in divine intervention through human beings. Most aetheists have become that way in reaction to years of discrimination, persecution and lack of unconditional love by fundamentalists; so, it appears to be a constant tug of war between the two factions. But most of all, Socialist and Marxist aetheists wish to take away basic freedoms, including the freedom to worship as one pleases; which is one of the guaranteed rights of our Constitution. Hence, most Conservatives, and very many moderates, have a problem with the so-called "liberals."

I'm not sure if my Bible mentions Jesus being a liberal....

Of all the liberals I know....the word liberal means that you don't have to have an opinion on anything. OR your "opinion" can change based on circumstances....like your opinion has conditions. For example....abortion is wrong for ME, but it's okay for everyone else. Hmmm I wonder if Jesus mentioned His stance on abortion. I've read the Bible through a couple times, but I may have been daydreaming during that passage.

Another quality I see in my liberal coworkers is that if you have an intelligent discusion with someone and they are starting to see your point, they start name-calling or insulting someone. They also like to quote the newspaper and get most of their news and views based on the current popular comedian. (I give Jay Leno credit for not going full bore on either side of the fence.)

So I can't say I have a problem with liberals, I used to be one, but I don't usually try to get in a conversation with them. I notice that they like to blame other people for stuff and expect the government to take care of them, like they are entitled to it. I don't have a problem but I keep the conversation shallow...I'm not "pc" enough for them.

Jesus was neither a "liberal" nor a "conservative" as we use the terms today, and neither political party accurately represents Jesus' position on all issues. I think conservatives have a problem with what they see as the moral laxity of many liberals.

And just how do you know He was a liberal??? That's a ridiculous question . The answer to the second part of your question is obvious: conservatives are conservative and Liberals are Liberals. They don't like each other because they don't think alike.

Because the Liberals of today are "not" walking the walk that Jesus did!
Liberals today are not even close to being the type of person that Jesus would approve of! They are political power mongers, thirsting for power over people only! There's no Christian sentiment in their hearts! They come as wolves in sheep's clothing!
