Hi everyone, I am 18 years old from Canada. I Have had the worst year and 1 month of my life. last year on June14 I delivered a stillborn baby. I struggled with Clinical depression and an eating disorder. I am working with a psychologist and a dietican to get everything back on track. My psychologist has told me I defeated depression and wow what a feeling when you never thought you could. I have this social anxiety now that I deal with due to not leaving the house at all in this last year. I have anxiety attacks with the thought of going to certain places. It seems that I have some sort of permanent nausea that I have to deal with pretty much everyday. some days are really good some days are just horrible. for the past 3 days I feel as though I am down in the dumps. I just want to be alone and just think, and cry, and scream. but that doesn't seem to help. Does anyone know anything I can try to do on these bad days. I just need some help or a boost or something.

I am sorry for the loss of your baby.
I also suffer from Social anxiety.
Did the Dr. take you off med's completely?
As for the S.A.D. I make myself go out daily. Not to a crowded supermarket but I will walk to the end of my street or around the block or I will go to one store I like. My boyfriend knows that if I start freaking out to take me home or out of the place that is bothering me. Bring someone with you when you go out.
The absolute worst thing you can do is to continue to remain isolated.
That in itself will make you depressed.
I realize some days the thought of leaving the house is unbearable. Those days do not push yourself to hard. Like I said take a short walk or go to a movie or a friends house. It gets you out but not in the middle of a crowd or anything. A change of scenery is needed at times to bring us out of a funk.
Have you tried the new meds for anxiety disorders? They work wonders!
Have you called your counselor on your "bad" days?
A friend?
Please remember you beat depression and your going to overcome this one to!
Take care of yourself! :)

Anxiety is a symptom of depression, as are some of the other feelings your describing. You should consider going back to your psychologist, or consider finding a new one. I would suggest a psychiatrist if you think medication may be beneficial. A support group with a strong buddy system may also be helpful so you can have easy access to someone who understands what your feeling.

My dear, you have not defeated depression. Don't let that get you down, though, because some of us live with it at some level throughout our entire lives. I have found self-awareness to be essential to successfully living with depression. You need to be able to recognize patterns of feelings and behaviors in yourself to try to compensate for them, which is what one of the goals of psychotherapy should be.

Don't lose heart. Keep going. Trust me, it is worth it!

Have you tried faking feeling good? I have been known to do that....it's the old "fake it til you make it " solution.

Have you tried laughing ? Rent comedies, hang out with funny people, read joke books, watch old Seinfeld reruns, conjure up old funny memories and laugh OUT LOUD.

Reach for your best thought when you feel you need a boost. Even if it's just a notch above the place you're at, at least it's better. Then reach for a thought higher than that when you're ready. Before you know it you've pulled up your socks and are ready to have a great day, and a better tomorrow.

Best of wishes to you, I care.

No medications!!! I was on anti-depressants, it just makes it worse!!! Try finding a hobby, or just get out there and have fun. Never look back on the past, always look to today! The only real advice i can give you is to see a counselor. You don't need meds, it will only hurt you!

you should get out of the house, join a ballroom dancing class or something. Dancing eases the mind plus it is fun. Dont worry sweetie all the bad things will pass. I wish you all the luck in the world!

Maybe you need additional therapy and some anti-depressant medication.
