If you do it dry, don't use shaving cream, nick yourself, or aren't careful, then yes it will.
Otherwise no.
Watch out for razor burn though.
And the stubble itches growing back.

Only if you don't know what you're doing.
In my experience, shaving anything from the clitoris back is usually an easy go - make sure you do it in the shower, use a mirror if necessary. I advise not to use shaving cream AS you shave, but to apply it -afterward-. However, for the stuff in front, I avoid shaving it and prefer to trim, because clothing tends to rub and make it itch when it grows back in. If you want, you can always ask your significant other for help. I would also recommend asking your doctor if you have any skin conditions or anything, that sort of thing. Because really, those bits are delicate, don't want to be shaving at them willy-nilly.
Just remember, every time you shave the hair will grow back thicker, darker, and stronger, and if you shave enough it will eventually become necessary. (Remember when you first started shaving your legs, how the hair was baby fine and you couldn't even really see it, and now, two days without a shave and BAM it's Frankenleg? Yeah. Same thing'll happen to your privates. So I recommend only shaving as a special occasion, but that is my own personal opinion.
Under no circumstances should any part of the process cause pain. If it does, you should try a different razor, or not shave for a while or ask your doctor of whatever.
Personally, I tend to trim the hair in front (what you could see without a lady spreading her legs, I'm sure you understand) because I get a mess of ingrown hairs when it grows back, and it itches like crazy. Further back, though, I do prefer to shave, because the skin stays very smooth for days and it doesn't itch or anything.
I hope this has helped. ^_^

If you use a regular razor, it'll hurt because the hair down there is thicker.
Please, please, PLEASE don't EVER use Nair. The skin down there is *very* sensitive and you WILL remove the skin and not the hair if you use those harsh chemicals.
The best thing to do is get an electric razor. They even have some now specially made for that purpose. You can shave dry and they are made to reduce nicks and cuts...a common occurrence with regular razors. Those are made for your legs and not for anything as complicated as your pubic area.

No as long as you are careful not to cut yourself. It is a very delicate area, as I'm sure you know, and it is easy to cut yourself. It may be helpful to use a mirror so that you can see what you are doing. Be careful and good luck. Just a bit of advise though... if you shave your pubic hair off, be prepared for it to itch if you decide to let it grow back.

First of all, learn your own anatomy. If you're actually planning on shaving your vagina... you have serious problems, and good luck with that.... let me know how it goes. (Your vagina is the big hole down there.) If you're planning on shaving your pubic hair off your labial (lips) area... you're better off using Nair or Veet or something like that.

it doesnt hurt when you shave it. you just have to use soap water or shaving cream. it is rougher and harder to shave when you shave it dry. try making it wet with soap water before shaving it if you don't have shaving cream. if you do, then use shaving cream and it will be easy. in fact, if you do it carefully it won't hurt a bit.
