Before any poster accuses me of plagiarism I got the idea to post this joke re-edited from another poster. Read it and let me know if A, it is funny and B, more importantly it expresses a truth of types and if so what? Without Adieu here it is.
There was this guy who died and went straight to Heaven. He met God, & God being a good sort of fellow and all, decided to give the man a personal tour.
"And here," God said. "We have the Muslim neighborhood...and just across the river over there, are the atheists; they're building lots of condos in that area...it's a hot and growing area."
They continued around Heaven, visiting all the different neighborhoods. At one point during the relatively long tour...way… way…way out past the Wiccan neighborhood, the Jewish neighborhood, the Buddhist neighborhood, the Hindu neighborhoods, the Zoroastrian neighborhood, etc, & even a Satanists Neighborhood ("Can you imagine their surprise?" God said, chuckling to himself),

they finally came to an immensely long and thick wall.
It was at this point that God said in a voice reminiscent to Elmer Fudd’s "Okay, now we have to be very, very quiet." You see, contrary to popular belief God had a sense of humor. And so the man went along with God walking in utter silence, along the outer perimeter of the wall. After a while, the wall curved away in another direction and God breathed a sigh of relief and continued showing the man other areas of eternity.

The man looked back at the enormous wall and asked God: "What's that wall for, and why did we have to be so quiet?"
God answered. "Oh, behind that wall is the Christian Ghetto. They like the think they're the only ones here."

momof3, A freed mind is not necessarily blasphemous. besides I do not think God has the type of ego that gets offended, if you can even say he/she has one.

blest and favrd, the joke is not suppose to be an absolute allegory for truth, but rather expresses a dysfunction within certain rigid religious ethos'

Bri, nice answer however I believe it will take some time for all souls to return to God. As they do they will essentially have realized they have all come the same religion, or no religion, depending on how you look at it.

I thought this was funny.
It does express some truth...
that religion gives some a sense of entitlement and superiority
that God knows best what's in our hearts despite the religion that we call ourselves
that God is the greatest possessor of our good qualities, including love, humor and forgiveness

haha yes, I'm not a religious person but i can appreciate this joke.
(a lot of people don't know the meaning of ghetto, so be prepared for some confused answers though)
but yes, i think there is some truth to this joke. many christians think that only they will go to heaven, and don't take the time to consider the beliefs of others. glad i can see someone actually shed a little light on that, without starting some big ranting argument.

Great! need to shorten it some though.
Maybe show it as a large area with a walled off section at each end and people of all those other religions (name them out as you did) getting along.
I ask, "What is the the walled off sections?"
God said, "One end is the Muslims and the other end is the Christians....If they knew everyone else was here, they would think they were in hell. They both like to think they are the only ones here."

I guess before you can ask if there is any truth in that question you need to ask yourself is there a God? And if yes and there is a heaven then i would like to think that everyone was welcome there, rather than the only our religion will take you to heaven bull spouted by most religions... if its true that God is a forgiving understanding human being that will accept us al with open arms, then the only issue he will have is all of us bringing our superior to all other religions earthly beliefs with us and turning heaven into Earth!!!

Yes it is mildly amusing, and there is tonnes of truth to it. The following is entirely my opinion: I believe that there will be mixtures of everyone in heaven. That "God" as "He" is called in the Christian faith, is just an extension of "The Creator" in most religions. Every faith has a deity, and I believe that this deity has different names in different religions, but is inherently the same deity, no matter what name you worship her/him by (why can't the deity just be sexless, why do we always force people to choose between male and female). So, there will be people from every single faith in heaven, and that opens up a whole new can of worms, as in what you believe heaven to entail....so I hope I helped answer your question. Have a great day!

A) Not funny, ha ha, but very clever and amusing
B) Love the sociological implications that, philosophically speaking, if God truly loves everyone, then all will be welcome in heaven.
Love the fact that the Christians who will hate this won't get the fact that the reasons why they hate it are the reasons why this joke exists! Wonderfully done!

Ha! That was great! Loved it!
That is in no way the way I think it will be in Heaven, because I feel we will all know the truth of pure unconditional love at the soul level, but it's a great commentary on present day attitudes.

I've heard that one before in a slightly different version, but with the same punchline. I think you can edit it a little bit, but yeah, it has more than a hint of truth in it.
